Lol at Mr.B he is right. BTW I forgot to mention, my 245 40 18 tires on 9.5 wide wheels make the car tramline and somedays its frugly....with the hi helix its worse. So for a street driver, using a hi helix quaife is not something that you should do. I am perverted and deal with it.

We put a Quaife in a 600 whp road racing C6 Corvette with a 6 speed sequential gearbox. The car runs 4.10 gears, has a lot of downforce and the small 4.10 gears cant handle the load, so half way through each season we replace the differential gears. Twice the gears have broken before we decided to chang out the gears. New case and internals each time. EXCEPT:

Same Quaife is in the car. Since 2007...

Quaife is awesome ;anyone here ever broken one? I doubt it. AND if you did, lifetime warranty.

wow.

I have run a Quaife that was in a trans that seized first gear on the mainshaft at Great Lakes Dragway, and the trans case had to be destroyed to get to the diff. quaife be fine.

You talkin bout me??
Lol that's EXACTLY what happened to mine as well.
Did I ever send you pics of the carnage?

Since its somewhat related to what's going on here....

This is the aftermath of my destroyed Trans. Up at CED; hopped in the box, launched, hit 2nd and BOOM.

No it was Slvrred (Kyle) but the same strip/ same problem 'same weekend, lol, now I know there were two of you broke the same way, LSJ/LNF makes no nevermind evidently.

4.45 is the way to go. Amazing how I had to fight on the forum five years ago about that. Especially the turbo guys " you need the tall 3.86 ratio to let the turbo spool"
yup.
sure.

PS shout out to Droxity for bailing your butt with a replacement tranny!!

Very much so!!

And yes, the 4.45 is amazing. The first time I drove it after getting the Trans swapped I about shat myself. 3rd on the 4.45 feels almost like 2nd did before. And I stayed neck and neck with a turbo redline making probably 70 more hp than me till the end of 3rd...

My clevite rod bearings showed up today. Just waiting on the arp rod bolts and total seal rings....come on summit..lol

Also i set the valve cover on the head with the 1/2 studs in to make sure they cleared cuz arp only had studs that were 1" longer or 1" shorter so i went with the longer ones and i have some harded spaces for this situation so no issues they will also spread the load out on through head even more.

FYI to use half inch studs in an LSJ you not only have to drill the head to make them fit, and of course you have increase the stud bore in the block. I have a scrapped block here, the larger stud diameter weakens the block and ended up breaking it there, at the rear of the block....good luck/ did anyone have an issue with stock size bolts/studs? wondering.
