Taking Off My Supercharger.....
So I can take it to a shop and have it ported and polished! Had you worried didn't I.... Anyway, there's a machine shop that will port my supercharger for me. Not sure on how much its going to cost or how much of a horsepower gain I'm going to get. But while I'm waiting for someone to reprogram our ECU's for the supercharger 2.8 pulley I've gotta do something...

PLEASE take pics and measurements while its off. See if there is a step from the TB to the inlet. Take a pic of the outlet. Is it a perfect triangle?
If there is not step between the TB and the inlet, and the oultet is a rounded off triangle, you wont get anything out of porting it. Not worth the $ or hassle really.

anyone have a pic of the underside of the SC? You dont want it to be too big or else you lose efficieny. You guys have a pretty small SC compared to others, so you dont want it too big. Pics would be able to tell how much to take off though.

I think you need to take it off to put on a new pulley, there isn't a lot of room in there to get it off.
I ordered the manual for the cobalt. I think it's going to be pretty important to torque it back down to the right ft/lbs ect. So I guess I need to figure out what that is..

There are different "methods" of porting roots blowers, most people go in and smooth out areas of the inner casting and then port match and/or gasket match. Typically the inlets and outlets of the casting is where most of the porting is done, as it's usually in those areas where the surface can be rough, or thick enough where you could port it out to a larger diameter.

i would advise against using a dremel. It will take days and you will go through a lot of bits. A blower is pretty strong and doing it with a dremel is not easy. Ive tried. After gtting frustrated with the dremel, i used a die grinder instead. MUCH better. If the oulet is not a perfect triangle and has a lip to it, you will need a cutting bit to get the big chunk out, then porting bits to smooth it out. It should basically look like a rounded off triangle. You should also have a slight angle to the outlet. The angle should be skinny on top and fat on the bottom. I had some before and after pics of a m90 but i think the mods deleted the pics because they were too big.

Yeah, I completely agree that a die grinder would be a much better choice over a dremel. Just wanted him to know it can be done with one lol. Probably should have rephrased it better.

thanks for the pics.
Porting that blower is not worth the money. The oultet looks like the newest version of the m90 and is already very efficient. I would be very wary of getting it ported. You may infact lose HP if done improperly. I say dont try and port it until a vendor has done lots of research on a SC dyno and knows what theyre doing instead of taking it to a shop and its their first time doing this current version of the m62. Just swap the pulley and be happy

Is there a gasket or any specail seal that I will need to replace when I take my supercharger off to swap the pulley ?
If I need to order some replacement part before I start that would be good to know
