For Those Who are DynoTuned....
Alright guys, so im finally getting 60lb/hr injectors in my SS, and getting dynotuned by a shop in houston called turbochargers.com. they are great guys, ive seen some of their work on some tc's and evos, etc.... however, this is their first SS to do. they know alot of stuff, so i have no doubt in my mind they can tune it and do a great job. so they quoted me at $80 an hour for the injector install, but said that it shouldnt take them that long, and $175 per hour for the dyno tuning....seems legit. but i cant pay no 4 or 5 hours for tuning my car cause the bank aint that big. haha, so what im wondering is, for those who have been dyno tuned, how long did it take you? have any issues? and est. how much power did you gain from the dyno tuning and/or with 60s installed???? any heads up would be great appreciated...

^^^ well I went to an Awesome Tuning place here in NJ.... who had done A BUNCH of cobalts B 4 me... I was done after 3 pulls all of about 30 min! lol
But for a 1st time cobalt, it could prob take them a while. Unless they have seen some info on here, I doubt they'll be great right outta the box with this motor + Setup

If they don't have a base tune to work off of it could take them all day. If they can quickly flash a basic tune for 60's then it should take to long to dial you in, maybe an hour at the most.

Unless you ground out the wiring for the harness LOL! What a day!
It takes about an hour even when you know what you are doing because you HAVE TO let the car cool between runs or else you will get nowhere.

$175 for dyno tune? that seems pretty damn high. I know of 3 places with a dyno and one charges $80 an hour to dyno tune and the other 2 charge $100 an hour. go to a diff. place

hmm...well i dont know of any other place around here that would do it. im already having to drive 2 hours to get to this place. and on the injectors, im gettting the ones from lightningforceperformance.com....it says the harness plugs into our factory one, so i could just drive my car up to this shop, and swap them out in the parking lot possibly??? lol

$175 expensive including the tune? Try like $750 for a dyno tune at most places. Now if you are only talking about dyno time, then yeah that's pricey as hell just for time.

Yeah, I've probably swapped injectors on 40 different cobalts, and had to take them off god knows how many times, and yours was the first time I fucked that up. And later that day I fucked up and left a shop towel in DVS's blower. That's what waking up at 5am and being up working on cobalts for 20 straight hours of the 27 hours you were up will do to you.
I'm guessing the car is running great though?

Tune time Down here in Jerz is $400 for the 1st time.... but then they save your Car's files and when ever you go back, its $60 an hr...
And they are by far one of the best tuner's anywhere as far as cobalts go!

You should have come to Hell Paso with us 3 weeks ago when I was out there doing tuning at Evolution Motorsports.
I heard lots of good things about them when I was out in Jersey tuning.

That's for the whole thing. It includes the dyno and tune. And yes it is "unlimited" because they don't stop until it's optimally tuned.
And most shops are $750/car......$500 is hard to find. But most of those tunes come with complimentary retuning if you run into problems later on, just not if you remod the car.

well see the thing is that the shop has never tuned a cobalt before, so there is no clue how long it would take them to get everything correct, and i cant afford to pay no 4 or 5 hours with $175 an hour on the plate...so i decided to go with the zzp pcm tuned for my mods for now. i know its a canned tune, but its still going to be waaaaay better then how my car is running now with the stupid stage 2 tune considering all the features they offer when using one of their pcm's...and the way i was thinking was if i ever needed further tweaking i can bring it to the shop and they can work with they pcm im getting from zzp cuz it will already have most things worked out on it and have a base for them to use, saving me lots of money and getting my car correct....
only time will tell though. my pcm will be here tuesday and i hope to get that along with my 60s installed that following wednesday or thursday and ill update you guys and let you know how everythings going....
