For those of you with 3 inch exhausts, what mufflers are you guys running? I have a dyno max and it sounds horrible. I'm thinking of looking into a magnaflow. any other ideas?

 

i have a magnaflow... dude are you sure its the muffler that sounds like **** and not the car? i think my ss/sc sounded like **** when i had

1. shorty header
2. 3" dp w high flow cat
3. 3"custom mandrell exhaust with magnaflow muffler

then i went to catless dp wow then it sounded so f**king loud and horrible rasp...

then i got this







a zzp whisper resonator made all the difference and made it sound very close to stock again...

 

i got stock header c/a catless dp whisper resonator and magnaflow muffler

 

i guess i should pick up the whisper

Dude your not going to get a 3'' and expect it to be quiet. Just face it some times you have you have to put performance first or just dont bother....

I have the CTI and a C-A catless downpipe

 

i have a corsa/ vibrant set up and its really loud!!! Do you guys think i should just take out the corsa resinator and replace it with the whisper or should i find some way to run it in line with the corsa set up?????

i have the vibrant 3 inch catback.

two resonators. one is cracked around the factory weld. sounds like ass.


before it cracked. it was loud. no point in lying. you get used to it after a while.

 

Yeah my magnaflow resonator crack and it sound like ****. But i had a local exhaust place weld it back up. I gotta say that my magnaflow cat back sounds nice and i have had it on my car for almost 3 years now. So magnaflow FTW

I have that Flowmaster Super 44 just sitting at my house. The 3" goes on next week when the H/DP combo come in. I will let you know how it sounds then.

 

Currently I have a custom 3 inch exhaust with a magnaflow muffler and no cat. It's pretty loud but everyone that I have talked to that knows there cars thinks it sounds good. However I will be adding a 3 inch header and downpipe by next weekend and possibly a cat, can't decide. I will letcha know how it sounds then. But magnaflow is definitely the way to go!

yep.. im thinking about putting my cat or a high flow cat on mine...
