Throttle Body Porting

Hi my name is Megan i bought my SS about a month ago and am slowly getting around to mods. Has anybody ported their stock throttle body? I was planning on doing it when i port my blower.
Any suggestions?

Welcome welcome...I'm also not too sure about the TB porting. I know a few have ported their superchargers, and there are some looking into TB swaps, but it's still in the works

really if you are just starting to mod out your ss than there is really no need to be porting anything yet. yes porting dose make some hp but inreturn do you have something in your cobalt to tune for the more air you are going to put into the engine it might make it run lean if you port to much too soon with out a tune. so if i where you i would hold off till you got more mods and a tunning program.

I will be doing porting for blowers and throttle bodies. I am working on becoming a sponsor right now. Hit me back in a while.

damn nice man.... I'll probably be finishing up the porting on my blower and doing a mild polish on my t.b. this weekend. I'll post some more logs when I'm done.

if you're F/I (or plan on going that route in the future) you're better off boring instead of porting. just an FYI since i never know if you balts that say you're SS are really SS/SC...

I'd have to agree with him on the porting. slo_balt, what else have you done to the car mod wise?

well... a company called Saturn Motorsports sells "big bore" throttlebodies... decent price... but I don't think anyones reported big gains from them.

Welcome to the site. You know, the first mod IMO is GM Stage II. If your looking to keep the factory arnity like me. Stage II is like a brand new car. I have the extended warnity though and I know alot of people who have the 36k or whatever it is go crazy after that point. Good luck, hope to hear more from you.

As for porting the tb, I don't know much about it.
