That's not necessarily true.
Just because you have forced induction doesn't mean you have to retard timing. It's a countermeasure incase there is some type of pre-ignition / detonation occuring.
This also depends on the stock ignition timing and the type of engine this is on.
Basically I'm saying it's more of a trial and error thing.

I have a gm stage 3 pcm, so there is no way to get into it, im running a 50 shot, but I wanted to build the motor and run a 100 wet shot, but I herd you had to retard the timing. So that aem fic will or will not work?
I thought they made something that is plug and play like a MAFT that will control timing?
