TTR, Crazy Cutlass, and ?s

first off TTR rocks. The shipping and customer service were great. I love my hurst short shift and absolutely adore my ttr upper engine mount. Awesome.

Yesterday a 94 cutlass sl wanted to roll on from 50....ok... Well after a few pulls and when my heart slowed down i asked him to pull over. Turns out his '98 gtp motor with every bolt-on possible, porting, northstar tb, roller rockers, etc, etc, etc is what scared the hell outta me the first two times he took off. The exhaust was deafening but the m90 was louder.. No decisive winner but he was suffering some pretty bad heat soak and an exhaust leak.. impressive car though.

Then later on some daddys boy approached me about racing his friend with "a stage 3 but not sure which, a bunch of stuff done to it, and 30psi on the stock supercharger..." Can someone please explain to me if that is in anyway possible, and if so, how? As far as i know the kid is either a liar or a total moron...both? Or am i just a little ignorant? Help me out, cause i wanna know how the superchager could force that air in, do it efficiently, and the motor not grenade....

Pretty sure you'd need an aftermarket blower to produce 30 psi of boost. You'd also need a larger intercooler to safely support it. Plus all the supporting mods, injectors, rails, walbro, custom tune.

Then on top of that, I doubt the stock internals would hold together with 30 psi of boost from an larger blower. Maybe if somehow the stock blower could produce 30 psi it could hold together but the size of the supercharger vs the compression will turn that thing into a blow torch.

Are there aftermarket blowers available for the SS?

I'll give the kid the benefit of the doubt and say that he is only a moron. No way you could push 30psi on the Eaton.

Also, they are working on a twinscrew swap, but so far it hasn't been released.

I'm not positive, but I think I've seen some guys pushing 20 or so. But they are creating so much heat by overspinning their blower that it isn't really an "effective" 20psi.

yeah, every single person I have talked to has said there is no way this car is possible on an unidentified stage 3, stock engine with just bolt ons. unfortunately i wasn't able to speak directly to the owner of this 30psi cobalt, it was a group of his friends who happened to approach me in my girlfriends driveway when i pulled in. The car is supposedly located in gurnee and theyre also supposedly bringing it out to my girlfriends for me to check out and to "race" this weekend... i'll bring my camera.
