TTR Solid engine mount

I know there's been many posts about motor mounts, tranny mounts etc and getting rid of wheel hop. I just recieved the TTR solid motor mount today and installed it immediately after and figured I'd share some comments.

First impression of this thing, it's bad ass. The finish was flawless and the welding on the pieces looked amazing. I didn't really know what to expect but when I unwrapped it, it was amazing. The installation was a breeze, I couldn't have asked for anything simpler, 3 bolts, 2 nuts and bam, done.

Now for the driving impresions, now keep in mind this thing only has about 4 miles on it so far, the car is now louder and vibrates much more. From inside the cabin, the noise of the motor is amplified by the vibrations through the body. There now also are a couple other rattles popping up here and there which I hopefully will be able to nail down as they come up. As for the driving part...wow...the motor moves much less. That little bucking action you get when you accel hard and then take your foot off the gas doesn't happen anymore, hard shifts feel a bit more solid and the car seems to respond a bit better. And as far as wheel hop, this doesn't eliminate it, but it definately limits it. I usually get some violent hop action with the 1-2 shift but tonight there was just a little tiny hop, a drastic improvement, but still there.

I'm hoping that the mount will break in over the next thousand miles or so and the noise reduces. This product is absolutely amazing, I'm just not sure if I want to deal with the noise and vibrations. I'll wait it out and see what happens.

Two guns up for TTR and an amazing product

Yea the noise does get some what better, but I do suggest getting the tranny mounts as well before you "break it in" and so does TTR. On the street it does take allot of the wheel hop away, but at the track it doesn't really do a damn thing. I just got the tranny mounts and I will be putting them in this Sunday and going to the track the following Friday, so we will see.

Let me know how the vibrations are after the tranny mounts. I can live with it the way it is but if it were to get any worse, I might have to wimp out.

Thanks for the good comments. The trans bushings don't add a lot of vibs, very easy to handle, IMO i like the car's feel with both the prothane bushings and the TTR mount

I am going to have to get really creative when I install the tranny mounts because on my job site I don't have the usual tools like a press and stuff. I will be using a 20 ton jack and a Cat IT28 loader. A little over kill don't you thing LOL. I will take pics of the most expensive install ever of these bushings(if I had to pay for it).
