Tuners running timing

How much timing are you guys running over stock...im tuning my car and bumped it up 3 degrees more than stock...just wondering what u guys r running...thx in advance..

Also wondering what would cause over boosting...my logs are showing 26 psi (186 kpa) and its red...i know that aint good...

As much as possible without knock, then back off 1 degree, maybe 2.

26psi on a 2.8? is that what your boost gauge is reading?

nope only my logs..my boost gauge reads 12 or 13 at the highest...but i believe the logs over the gauge..

naw i got my dp fixed now..i just changed it today which is y im tuning again..

something is not right. get a mechanical boost/vacuum gauge and tap it on the vacuum line coming off of the intake manifold. true boost reading

what is stock timing? my mechanic did my tune and tried to explain stuff to me but i didnt understand much of it, all i know since i didnt have alot of time we only went up 2* of timing.

um stock timing is 15 and if he went up 2 then ur at 17...

so i have a question.. what if i use meth and my 2.8 what kinda timing should i run?? i mean i will definatly watch for knock ( interseptor) but i want to get a kinda good idea where i should mess around at??( meth mix is just going to me regular washerfluid... 70(water) / 30(meth) i beleave

meth is a wonderful thing. lol. on these cars you really dont want to go past 25 degrees. they dont make anymore power after that, just more heat

so i should stop at 25 if anything right? never rilly did any timin on any of my cars... always had it done at a tuning shop... lol now its my turn to eather save money... or mess something up and get a new built motor lol.
