2.7 pulley, 1.75" primaries on header. Engine still making power at shut off point (7200 rpm). I could pull more power out of it if i upgraded my valve train so i could go higher on rpms

How much boost with that pulley? Considering your HP and TQ (and mods of course), in my opinion those are good numbers. An upgraded valvetrain is key to getting more power. Also, I'm getting a ported head, so that will add substantial gains.

Mine is an 05 Big injectors on the stock fuel system isnt exactly the "correct" way to do it, but it gets the job done for now. I may pick a a new pump and rewire soon.

I don't care about what anyone says. Get some sort of Header/dp combo. Even a Bad-mab at the minimum.

I maxed out the stock fuel system with a TVS, 2.9" around 6300rpms. My injectors went static and the system leaned out. The TVS makes peak HP around 7200rpms so you need to rev it past that.

If I were you, I would not run anything smaller then the stock TVS pulley until you upgrade your fuel system.

With a good tune, you should make between 315-320whp with the stock TVS pulley and E85.

interesting so if i got rid of my balancing shafts and got new valve springs the tvs would make power to 8k or would it drop of with stock cams

It would still drop off way before 8k.

With the stock head, the TVS out flows the LSJ. So the TVS is moving way more air then the engine can handle. And the stock cams do not help either.

Here is some dyno runs I did with my TVS and M62.

Red and Green are TVS.

Look at how the boost spikes at the end of the run just before 7 grand.



To rev to 8K with the TVS, you would need balanced shafts and valve springs for sure. Then either cams and a ported head.

Personally, I would go with the ported head first. That should move your powerband a couple hundred RPMS and provide good gains across the board.

Cams are going to move your powerband higher up in the RPMs but might cause you to loose HP/TQ on the low end.

I've got a 3.0 pulley that I will make my limit as far as size goes. Any smaller I gonna buy the boost by reference from ZZP.

Is ZZP bosst by reference better than OTTP return style.?

Is one more necessary than the other?

I don't know if I would say one is better then the other. ZZP used to say that Return Style was useless but now their kit has the Return option.

I just bought an OTTP Return style from this guy.

Not to thread jack but could just porting the exhaust side suffice for better flow or is it completely worth a full port and polish with valves springs balance shafts because the set up I have is some what similar except im going to try the zzp lth with catless dp to 2.5 inch catback. =D

I need a header bad. That GMPP honed mani is horrible in terms of what I really need for my set up. Bad-Mab seems like a cheap option. I just got a 3'' vibrant exhaust which I cannot wait to hear.

I'm really concerned about my piston rings with the TVS setup..

as long as you have the correct fueling, and a nice flowing exhaust, with some cooling mods to maintain the iat2's dont be worried about piston rings. WITH A GOOD TUNE THAT IS. im about to put my 2.6 on right now. im still on 93 with meth and 80's

i can post that cuz my engine blew to my own stupidity...was the fuel system pushed hard? yes...but i ran it hard with that set up for months and nvr changed the plugs or bothered to even look at them even after switching to e85 or after tuning..it was my own fault it blew up not the tune or the fuel system being pushed

Suspension wise, what do I need? So that my engine doesn't beat around like a jack hammer.

I have the stock mounts, all over. I've even replaced two of them already. That was fun.
