***UPDATE***....almost 3 years later....

07blackSC, one of my best friends, was having some issues with the car, very long story

*Was on stock internals the whole time, never blew, never any block, piston, sleeve, head issues, etc and the car saw many beatings and a few times saw 30-35 psi during boost spikes/compounded boost while having issues

Went back to a blower setup and sold the car in June of 09 and has since gone through a few other fun toys

...miss that that SS...besides Chris and myself, I only know of 1, maybe 2 other people that had the privilege of driving it and it was one hell of a fun car

As of now, I know this is nothing knew, others have gone twincharged, big turbo, pushed the limits, etc and ZZP went from developing a twincharged setup to a damn near 900whp cobalt

***** come along way thats for sure

Being that I was around from the beginning and saw it all as it progressed from GMS2, through all the mods, to Twincharge, all the updates, the first ride, driving it, filming all vids when the car first got back (yes thats me filming all the vids in this thread and occasionally giggling like a girl lol), and all the great times raising hell around town in it... figured i would give this dead thread a R.I.P.

On page 14, he said he was never getting rid of the Cobalt.

Lol i know what Chris said...**** happens lol

When he got the kit he had full intentions of keeping the car and building the motor, you think he wouldve been a guinea pig and/or spent a good chunk of cash on the car like that if he didnt?

But damn was that one hell of a car lol

Still remember driving it and holding dead even with him in his dads old SRT10, i mean i knew what it was putting down and the weight difference, but knowing the cars theoretical potential and actually riding door to door with a Viper are completely different lol obviously wouldnt be terribly uncommon now, but 3 years ago that was fairly new **** to the cobalt world lol

If anything, hopefully the problems chris ran into helped situate some problems for the couple other guys that had the twincharge kit later on
There's a lot more than a couple. We sold at least a dozen twincharge setups. Most people asked for turbo only, though. That's why we ended up offering the turbo swap kit.

thought zzp had a kit for this? couldnt find it on their site at all now that they've changed the layout. saw it before the change. wonder if they stopped selling it or may have to ask for it. im looking for a list of all supporting mods needed for this. and wonder if its possible to route intake piping around ingals engine torque dampner so i can keep that. i can see a place near the crankcase opening vent but looks like id need smaller diameter piping. would that really kill the air supply goin a little smaller in piping? not sure if i have to but just curious. i want a kit with everthing i need to do this. wat clutch will handle this power and are driveshaft shop level 2 axles strong enough for this? how the heck do you tune with hptuners for both types of induction at the same time?

We had more requests for turbo only kits and fewer people interested in twincharge kits, so we made the switch. Plus the S252 turbo we use as the base turbo in the LSJ kit ended up capable of making a little more power than we expected, all while maintaining quick spool. The twincharge setup didn't offer enough advantage to be worth the extra effort for most people.

i find that having zero turbo lag would be a big advantage and also give the daily driver a wider powerband. what if i gave a large sum of money and drove to michigan to zzp's shop and had them do it there? or maybe even allow me to help or watch them do it. it was 4000 dollars for the kit on the site. maybe for 6000 they would make it happen.

plus i perfer uniqueness over wat everyone else goes with. if it has problems ill deal with it and make it happen. ive seen other users with the setup make it work, but very few people who actually have it so that takes all my attention to it.

throwing boost at a car is not unique. we are traveling well known roads here. it takes a lot of cash to run something truly different.

yea the rims came with the car when i bought it 3 months ago. ive put 2,338 dollars into just getting this car to run right. the owner before me neglected this car BIG TIME. i had 7 codes thrown when i first bought it. but most were due to a shorted wire under the clutch pedal. i couldnt figure out wat was wrong with it. i thought that the stage 2 tune was never added and that was causing all the problem. took it to chevy and they thought that too but the mechanic called some gm specialist and said to start looking around moving parts for shorts. just that and the new door latch assembly total cause me a grand alone. i would have done the latch assembly myself but it comes from the factory defective and had chevy figure that out and they rigged it to work. still is a fast car with just the stage 2 and other little mods. im real excited to get into some real power tho. soon as i recover from all this money spent. still running lean for some reason?!? thought its supposed to run rich with the stage 2 tune. so gonna do hp tuners and a wideband soon. plus y pipe and dual exit exhaust with the rksport g5 rear valance. that should all happen near the end of next month. so excited! lol
