lol... you guys are funny... I"m sorry I forgot I haven't been racing since the mid 90's ... don't take my advice.. I'm sorry....

bTW I run on slicks and I do just dump off the line... car just hooks and goes. Rather be able to hold it at 2500 for the launch for bracket racing.... but most of you guys probably don't know what that is, or how to race consistantly

You can install a two step into the stock PCM by adding a few wires into the PCM harness so the PCM detects the difference between a park/neutral revlimiter and an in gear one.

never too much, and yes 400 whp has been broken by more than a few people, they just don't go on this site. and 550 is about 400 less than my last car I built. Car is not a daily driver, I got a nitrous injected lincoln mkVIII with a 96 cobra swap in it for that lol..

I can completely understand somethin like this for a drag car....
or at least a car that is dragged ALOT, where consistancy is key....

but i think its a pretty funny mod for a daily driver / car enthusiasts who occasionally hit a friday night test and tune, with a <300hp car.....

is it really that hard to control the use of your right foot?
is 50rpms gonna hurt you that much?

My trick is the limit boost in first gear with HPTuners. However I ramp up the boost in first gear progressively. To much limitation, and you'll be too slow. It takes a few runs to dial it in, but it works great.

On the two step idea, if you bracket race it is a huge benefactor. Consistancy wins period, no if's and's or but's period.

Now if only I could make it down the track without breaking anything!

lol I hear ya. I'll be bracket racing on the 30th in the sport compact shootout at E-town. hopefully I can get this thing dialed in good. Last time out I set the carup for consistancy and ran
13:74
13.76
13.79
13.78
13.76
13.72
this was not an attempt at a full speed run since the track was kinda crappy, just seeing how to dial in my car. I did one full boost run and could only pull of a 13.4@106 due to 43 deg temps and a non prepped track

That's pretty consistant man. Some people don't understand that even as consistant as you were, during bracket racing you could have easily got knocked out. My buddies 73 Camaro drag car has been running 5.91's in the 1/8th and got knocked out because of being on 1/100th! When it's cooler out though, he can run 5.61's all day long!

ok well two things wrong with this post...

To start a two step is for a RWD application... it is for doing burnouts in the burnout box...

Anyway what you are thinking of is a STUDDER BOX! That is what the EVO had in that video you had. It works amazing for turbo applications. But in a FWD vehicle it does not use as you will just spin! for AWD it is sick!

Yeah a line lock is for doing burnouts and to prevent rolling on the line while you build rpms before a lauch. Line locks deal with the brakes. A two step is a rev limiter.
