yur exhaust starts to sound very very very hollow, and youll see blue smoke coming out of your exhaust, car was good down low horrible up top lol, belive it or not, but yah the car gets hot and exhaust is very hollow, i know mine was cuased by crappy tuning, but i think the fuel rail at the end near number 4 needs to be bored out, i believe GM cut to tight of a bend instead of having a nice even bend so i dont think #4 is getting enough fuel, someone should make a new fuel rail for us, i really think that would solve our problems

Luckily mine is ok, because after I blew the ring land, I caught it and only drove it home before more damage could be done. The exhaust sounds really hollow, and just wierd, plus mine sounded like a WRX so that was a good indication that something was wrong
Also, before I do the twin screw I'm converting to a returnless fuel system, VERY easy to do with the stock fuel rail, considering it is a returnless fuel rail that it blocked off.

Ya someone really has to build new rail and/or return line system. I'd convert mine in a minute. I've got a hoist and all the tools but I don't want to mess with it without knowing what I need for the job.
So what would be involved in tuning after converting?

tell me how and ill do it, yes i strongly believe, even when looking at the rail tonight, #4 just doesnt seem to have the bend, i tihnk a return line system would fix our woos as fuel would continue to pass by and drop in as i would normally in # 1, 2 and 3, so maybe just maybe while my rail is off, ill have my machinist look and see if he sees and imperfectiosna nd ill look into doing a return line, it shouldnt be overly hard
Yes at idle i burnt blue smoke, and WOT, the coolant temps were always on the rise, and i was running a cobra heat exchanger so people know, as well when the plug was removed it was full of oil
honestly my car ran maybe, just maybe 10 minutes after i noticed it was running weird, but i think i started burning oil the friday before, and didnt notice, as i was smelling burnt oil, but i thought it was drip off from my oil change, and yeah a WRX is the best way to describe the way the exhaust sounded, but its so weird cuz u couldnt even feel the ridge when i ran my finger nail across the wall, didnt even catch, but when honed and crossed hatced it was visible and beyond me wanting to use that sleeve

changing the fuel rail, changing to a none return system? could it be that are flow by 2.6 or 2.6 plus blower porting pushes the fuel supply system beyond its abilities to supply?
some of you claim bad tune or could it be that it was time for the ringland to let go over time? these are cast pistons some are going to be good while others are poor.
there are lot of #4 pistons. should I survey all of you as to which piston let go in your car? I have not read back to see if it is truly everyone who blewup a 2.0l if it was #4.
EDIT: a thought. After rebuilding a motor and putting in forged pistons we will see how many #4 cylinders go. Costs money to do research?!

i will give an update on my car this weekend when we pull the pistons... btw my car had 9500mile when it went, 3-4k was on the 2.6, and 300 was on a ported blower 2.6.

With 20 lbs. of boost, that comes out to only 35psi effective rail pressure on our stock returnless systems, much less than I would like it to be. At idle, its near 75psi effective.
The thing bolted into the end of our rail is a pulsation dampener btw.
