Updated Exhaust Thread

I was looking all over to find a good updated exhaust thread. It is a big topic and should be one of the treads that is closer to the top.

I wanted to get some pictures, videos and maybe some audio of the exhausts for the LSJ.

What do you have or recommend?
How does it sound?
How was the install experience?
Why did you choose the one you did?

What do you recommend for my car?
I hate the popcorn sound the stock exhaust makes. I want a low smooth sound.

2007 ss supercharged
stage 2
injen cold air

I was looking at Magnaflow, HKS, and DC.
I was also looking at the Vibrant but my friend had a bad experience with a set of headers and sent them back.

i bought a 2.5 manderal bent catback from manderalexhaustsystems.com i also put in a round magnaflow muffler as a resonator. as for my review here you go i will try to get pics soon.
1.yes i do recommend it i love it
2.sounds amazing little raspy when could but goes away fast to a low deep deep tone.
3.install sucked ass. they say its all clamp on but the muffler inlet is like 2.8 and the pipe is like 2.6 o.d so i had to do some welding
4.i choose it because it was like 260 shipped to my door.
overall for the price its an awesome deal.. i love how it sounds it not that loud at all. and if you do buy it which you should just leave your self about 1.5 hours for install to make sure its right.... mine hang really low the first day and then the second i worked on it more and found i didn't slide the pipe in all the way.

Thanks - I think thats why I want to get headers back. Most come with the downpipe and bolt right to the header. Even if I get a Cat back I want it to bolt right to the original Cat for now. NJ inspection sux and I will need to be able to put in and out the Cat, Full welds are a pain in the A$$.

Hahn Max Flow Downpipe/Cat Cobalt 2.0 SS/SC Price: $415.79
Hahn 3” Cat-Back Exhaust System Cobalt 2.0L SS/SC 2005-07 Aftermarket Downpipe Price: $566.99

This option sux because you need to get both at the same time.

I see alot of people have
05-07 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Megan Racing Cat Back Exhaust - Drift $334.40
anyone have any experience with this?

I just found these two below -

Corsa Cat-Back Exhaust - 05-08 Cobalt - $739.99
MagnaFlow Cat-Back - 05-09 Cobalt 16619 - $693.68

hahn, sounds sick as ****

you dont have to buy the hahn header back all at once i had my hahn cat back bolted up to the stock downpipe for a little, you just gotta order it with the bell down flange to a 2.5 exhaust

The Megan sounds like poo, but I got mine for Cheap. And, w/ the right muffler,,,,,

I hacked off the Megan canister and had a Magnaflow muffler/tip welded in

Now I'm very happy with it,

2.5" mandrel bent Stainless from the cat-back for a good price

I have mine mated up to the ZZP midlength combo with Magnaflow high flo cat

Really helpfull thanks- I will you- tube the Dc and the Hahn to get a better idea of the sound. You got any pic's you can post

The Hahn web site had them packaged that way. I would love to see it on the car.

Ou just saved me $400 bucks if I went that way.
