I dunno. been running it at 22 psi for 3-4000 miles now, it was a cheapo ebay crap turbo... figured it go sooner or later. Blowing oil out the seal into the exhaust so it's only a matter of time til it's totally done

THIS BUILD CANNOT FAIL ROD!!

the crank your using I think is a great idea since RPMS for the tranny cant be greater than 8,000RPM. I say get it built to the limitations, primer it grey, and hit the track to call it a day. in other words, lower your standards a little to get'er done faster. mechanically it will still be a dream. perhaps you can find a shop locally to do the interior. gotta have a custom shop in your area or even seatle. or hey how about taking it to UNIQUE AUTO and having the car on UNIQUE WHIPS....LOL. they have to get it done in 30 mins for the show....LOL.

Lower my standards???? What have I done to you lately I think you have plans your not telling me about.

We are working on getting new crankshafts made right in Toronto. We have sourced out a shop who has the CNC equipment and we have found a couple of billet round tube suppliers. The next step is to create the CNC program and then we are back in action.
I should have more info in 1-2 days.

Now if anyone has the GM CAD drawing that has the centers for the 2.0L LSJ let me know as it will save us a week or two.

Never settle for only the best Vic. It's so far in the build and in time to settle for mediocre parts. I have faith in you.

Fixed

The crankshaft problem is solved. We are going with Crower.
We are looking at 10-12 weeks for the cranks to arrive.
I guess the car isn't coming home anytime soon.

Do I laugh or do I cry?????

The 2 years does suck and so does being ripped off for $2500.

And as far as the laughing and crying part, I do take turns.

To have a cobalt that would pull the panties off of a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is worth almost any expenditure of time and money in my opinion.

Update

Okay we are making a bit of progress as you will see in the pictures.

The crankshaft has remained to be a source of frustration. After much delay the first partially made crankshaft was shipped from Texas to Lopez Crankshafts in California.
Sadly the crankshaft is so far from being finished that we are not holding our breath.
I have hired another company in California to make a crankshaft for us. The new crankshaft will be completed in under 8 weeks. I have to thank Lopez crankshafts for all their help in getting this other company to produce a crankshaft from scratch.

The car can now roll on it's own wheels. The SSBC brakes are in after there were a couple of installation issues with the frame. These resolved issues have actually freed up an extra 6 inches of space side to side, in the engine bay.
The spare engine is installed in the engine bay and you can see what the LSJ looks like in it's rwd position.

On Monday Distinct Images and JBP are finally going to be able to set the final placement of the turbos/dry sump/intercooler-intake/header.
Once that is done the exhaust pipe can be routed and the cage welded together. The rest of the conversion should go smoothly from here on in.
