I just received word today that the stand alone system will not be available for weeks.
This effictively screws the project up royally. Without the standalone there is no way to run the engine. This effectively kills the project from continuing in certain aspects of the build and seriously removes any motivation from the guys doing the other parts that can continue.
Right now I am seriously considering throwing in the towel.

Don't make me come to MR.

I hear what you guys are all saying and I try to remain positive about this project but it isn't easy.
I have been fighting this battle for 25 months now and I have more disappointment than success including being ripped of for thousands of $$$$.
The delays have been unreasonable and this latest one guarantees that the car will not see the track this year and because of the rain in the fall/winter the car likely won't even see the street. That makes almost 3 years for this project.
Without the pleasure of driving the car at all for the 3rd straight year, the exorbitant cost is very hard to justify. The delays, disappointment and cost cause this car to be my main focus daily and I need it to stop.
You really don't know how much this project consumes me. If I knew then what I know now, I would never do this. I should have listened and just bought a already built supercar.
The idea of having the financial bleeding and unknown schedule come to an end has a lot of appeal to me.
I wish I could say this is all fine but I can't.

Keep on truckin'.... it'll all come together in the end and it'll all be worth it... when you get to fire it up and pitch a tent in the pants and giggle like a little school girl!
my .02 for what it's worth!

Wow man. This totally sucks. I have to assume that by this project you are a competitive man. I promise i am only doing this for motivation but...
Now come on!!! I know it feels like this is out of your hands not to mention you do have a life that you are probably putting on hold for this project, but there are always more options.
Slap that big single turbo on it, MSD, and a clutchless tranny in it to hold boost and fulfill every followers hopes of seeing this beast on the road. If we didn't have faith in you we wouldn't be here.
.....I know, easier said that done. I am REALLY sorry to hear about this

Rod, don't do it. This is the worst part of projects like this. When I was working here www.thecreativeworkshop.com and we were working on finishing the Sport Special (click on Gallery and Media, then on the top right picture, to see all the pics), which was about a $750,000 project, we had a similar issue with the management. It was running an Electomotive Wintec3, and we kept having issues with the system, the car would randomly shut down for no reason. We had to chase down new sensors for everything, we had to get another ECM, then we had to send that one back to Electromotive to have it modded so we could use it. It took weeks to get it right, and we were already way past the due date for the show we were aiming for. The owner was understandably upset at missing the deadline, but after 4 years of the build, he was able to look back on it and have exactly the car he wanted, and couldn't have been happier.
Stick with it, don't give up. It will be worth it in the end.

Rod the car has been named after a Rush song!
In all seriousness think about those goes...or better yet go pick up a copy of this month's Rolling Stone...I mean you do whatyou gotta do but you have come SO far and it would really be an honest honest shame to see someone take a Cobalt, turn the LSJ sideways, and get sooo far...then...have to stop.
No one has a car like yours...finish it...I know it is really easy to encourage you when it isn't my money, as goes for all of us.
Hang in there.

Doc, that is definitely one way to cheer me up.
To all of you that have offered words of encouragement, thank you. It really means alot and iroc_mitch that pictures really does motivate.
Part of the struggle is I just get told to wait, but I don't get told for how long.
This is sort of like that tight hottie who says she loves you and she is going to do crazy things with you, someday. She won't tell you when, she just keeps flashing her goodies at you saying, I'm not ready yet but keep waiting. Someday I am going to rock your world, and while you wait could I have several more thousands of $$$.
I think that for a while, I do need to take a vacation from the car and try not to let it occupy so much of my life right now.
Nothing is going to happen quickly so I will remove the push on JBP and take some time to get caught up on other things that I have let slide.
The car will get finished and I know that most of you are cheering this project on. Sadly it doesn't look like it will happen in time to have the unveiling at a race track this year.
I will continue to update this thread if/when anything big happens.
