warrenty safe mods
i have a stock ss/sc 2006 and i have the extended warrenty what are some modifications i can do that will NOT void the warrenty

well, nothing really voids the warranty per-se, mods will just void the part of the warranty affected by the mod. best bet though is if you're really concerned with warranty, keep it stock. Many people will scream magnuson moss, but there's a few things to take into consideration:
1) Age. The younger you are, the harder it will be to get warranty work done with mods to the car. Why? People think that the younger you are, the more you beat on your car, especially if modded. It tends to be true. If 2 people go to a dealer with the same problem, and both have an intake as a nexample, a 35 year old man will have better luck getting it covered than a 17 year old kid.
2) Ownership. Is it your car? or is it also in your parents name. If both, how will they react? You go to the dealer, the dealer says your mods caused the problem so you have to pay out of pocket. Most parents would get pissed, tell you that you're paying, and you're not allowed to mod anymore.
A big thing is how you react with the dealer also. Many times at the dealer the people are into modding their cars as well. If you're not an *******, they will help you out most times. If you go in bitching and screaming, good luck. But if you stay nice an d calm, and actually talk to people, you have a better chance. Case in point, I had a shattered CV joint fixed under warranty with a 2.9, tune, and boltons on the car. The service tech slickly let me know that he knew about the mods, said he was also looking into getting a 2.9 with a wink
So there's a bunch of factors involved.
