by the time you get enough structure to that fiberglass, you're probably back near the stock weight
I guess everyone missed this post.
Thats just ignorant, to want to win a race so badly that you will likely seal your fate in an accident.
Have you ever seen how weak fiberglass actually is?
I like the idea of how the doors are straight bolt on even though u have to use plexy glass windows in them but im tryin to have a kinda undercover car that looks stock but really ant an do it as cheep as i can. If i got hit in the side they better hit me hard cus if i live im gonna be pissed hahaha but I dont care about safety in my car, Its not a family car just a street racing car that has a dual tune for running or milage so i can crewse all i want , but also run it if i want..... pooor mans vette lol except its faster than a stock vette haha

you could run window nets. but you'd need to have it certified by and nhra or ihra tech, whoever governs the trakc you go to. you'll also need certified arm restraints, helmet, and a certified non factory seat. possibly a driver roll bar too.
tracks really don't like open air setups.
edit. you'll also need a new harness system. which drag racing harnesses..yes, actual ones none of that show harness **** hahah, need to be sent off to the manufacturer every couple of years to make sure its still safe.
i would say just spend the money on lexan. a little thought on the install and you can have it sealed water tight. but also removeable.

Just found a how-to
Carbon Fiber sunroof weight loss plan -- for less than $350
Its not a Cobalt but pretty much should work out just the same!

well passanger, backseats, liners, door panels, trunk crap, AC for sure, hell if you drag you could pull the alternator and just charge the battery over and over.
ditch the shift boot
cf hood/trunk and light weight rims I think are the most common and easiest but cost the most.
