Wow this really sucks. Makes me more and more nervous about building my engine here pretty soon...

I've got some Diamond forged pistons I can sell you. Used for about 5k miles, in perfect condition. PM me if you're interested. I don't really have the money to buy sleeves and have them installed, that's why I'm selling them.

Spec? Garbage? No way! My stage 4 clutch disk didn't grenade on me while I was cruising in 5th gear or anything......

Interesting. Didn't know that.. figured it was just a freak thing. The welds slowly let go and you could see where the disk was rubbing back and fourth for awhile before it let go.

I can't remember anyone breaking sleeves with stock pistons. Knock on wood my stock 65k miles turbo'd motor still runs strong.

The biggest thing I wouldnt trust with 400/450+ hp is the cheap ass pistons. You might be able to get away with it, even long term (especially being turbo), but they are junk in comparison. The rest of the block has pretty high capabilities.

As long as you have a spot on tune (and dont spike boost ) the motor really can take a beating.

Well for all of that the price doesn't seem that bad. I wish I could afford to do this. It would take me entirely too long to save that much money up.

mine has seen a spike past 28psi on accident and nothing happened, luckily the charge pipe blew off though instead of the engine, not telling how high the pressure would've went lol

trust me, i have no money because of this car. im just glad i live with my father still. i would say ill be 20 grand in credit card debt after this is done. its my fault but this is it for me. i love my car but its definately not worth 45 grand. but ive easily put 25 grand into this thing.. i think it was just a waste on this car.. i dont know.

As dumb as you may feel, you're not quitting your quest, I admire that. I'm still in CC debt from my past car, hence my chill attitude on the 'balt, but man I can't take back what I achieved, did I do it the right way? Nah, but **** it, this is life, you can't take it with you, and you live and learn.

Best of luck pal!

I hear ya man. Good thing I don't have a credit card. I guess if I really wanted to do all of this I could truly save up to get it done. That quest for 300+whp gets out of hand lol

Can't say I've spent more than 4500, and I'm definitely not in debt for it. But I got other priorities. As much as I'd love to just dump money into my car, I just can't.

I also spoke to ray bates and it looks like getting a short block built is right around 3 grand with everything that is needed. He also does some great head work that people should look into also. Really is a great guy, spoke to him yesterday morning for a good hour and he told me all sorts of cool things he has done, the racing scene, etc. Great guy, highly recommend him. I'm swinging by his shop later on next week to take a look at some things and to talk to him further. I am definitely having him do my build though, I don't think there is anyone else who knows there stuff better.
