Well...... Stage 2 and other gmpp dyno results...

What up.... My mods are injen cai, gmpp honed manifold, gmpp touring exhaust, gmpp stage 2, and ingalls torque damper. Here's the deal. I dyno'd my car tonight on a dyno @ my school (UTI). they run these t buckets on it everyday all day. I hear that it needs calibration. Others say its accurate and it doesnt need calibration. Regardless I feel really disappointed man ****! Im not very good at reading dyno's so u guys help me out. Is this bs? Im getting dyno'd again on may 5th on another dyno. My best run was 227.86hp 204.22 tq.

looks like your car is running lean. the dyno looks good don't worry about power look at track times and trap's

Yeah, that's pretty low, especially for a DynoJet..How was the Temperatures, outside as well as for your ride?? She may have alot of heat soak goin on..Not to mention, that dyno may need some calibrations too..lol

the end result does not matter man... all dynos are going to be different. if you dynoed on another dyno you may have completely different results.

what you need to do is have a before and after dyno so you can actually see how much hp you gained over stock.

dont worry about it

my coolant was @ 215 @ the time of the run. oh and supposedly after the 1st run the sensor from the exhaust fell out. so maybe thats why it read lean. hey it was a free dyno too. so that was the best thing about it.

Like someone said above, don't worry about it. Use the dyno as a tuning tool and for comparison runs on the same dyno. If you want to test and compare your car with others on here, take it to the track and let it shine!!

I will say your car is way to lean if the A/F ratio is right. The car is pulling timing most likely, thus lowering your whp and wtrq.

Yea man, thats pretty hot IMO. I never see my car pass 180. Even in the summer running the car hard I have seen 190 max. That heat makes a hell of a differance. Good luck next time, I would bet it will be higher.

well a dude in my class told me to warm my car up and i just let it sit idleing for like 20 mins. which is why it probably got so hot. im also curious what exactly is heat soak and how does it affect ur performance.

By warm you really only need it to operating temperature. I'm sure what he meant was let the engine get up to temp. Running it at idle for 20 minutes probably didn't help your #'s. Next time, start it, put it on the dyno when the coolant is up over 150 so you're not doing a WOT dyno run with a cold motor.

damn, thanks....also i just read that ur supposed to disconnect the negative battery cable when putting the stage 2 parts in so the pcm can relearn. I never did. but would it be necessary after the pcm was reflashed?

Did you ever go get the stage 2 reflash from the dealer? That could be your problem if you didn't get it.

For every 10 degrees hotter or cooler your intake air temps you lose roughly 10% HP; so on a stock Cobalt 10 degrees hotter than usual IAT2 temps would cause you to dyno about 5-10HP less. It's just a rough value but it is fairly close to being accurate. Just an example of how much it affects power.
