i use m1. if gm tells me to use it then that is what i shall do untell i am pushin 600hp lol i will go with m1.
on another note i have a 1989 s10 that is over the 500,000 mile mark and is still running like a champ on conventional castrol gtx with no rebuild never even cracked the seal on the valve covers... as long as you change your oil when you should it will do just fine for a long long time

Man your getting shafted 10 a quart for Amsoil. I pay like $7 only like 30 cents more that M1.

Amsoil will save you money once a year oil changes ( 1 year or 24000 miles and they cover any engine damage that would come from oil failure just like valvoline or any others!)

there have been threads about this in the past... use the search button OP. In case everyone has not herd the conclusion to the previous discussion... there's no point in running anything other than the mobil 5w-30 with the oem filter. Unless your cobalt is pushing some serious 700+hp on a drag strip or your racing it on a road course in a race for 2 hours... you dont need anything else that isnt gm spec approved.
