What I meant by who cares about boost levels is..... A higher psi because of a pulley drop does not always mean more power. That's what I was getting at with efficiency.

If you are going to drop a pulley size make sure you can do it by also increasing efficiency (opening up the exhaust, ported head, etc.). Do this, and you will be able to utilize the added airflow from the smaller pulley to maximize gains.

So in my case would it really be worth it to run e85 bc there arent many stations around me with it I mean my goal hp is around 275fwhp for now it is my dd still. But I dont wanna cook my engine either. And I really dont wanna run meth. I am sorry if these are stupid questions but I am still a noob for sure.

You can Max the timing at 25deg(any higher and no real gain beside motor stress) on e47 and 2.8.

You dont need e85 to run a 2.7 on stock lsj/m62. I made 265 all day with a safe tune, pretty rich i might add, on 93 oct for about a year or better

Why hasn't anyone mentioned getting the best mod for the h/e system, getting an opt b?

I've been saying this for years, but no one listened to me....

Now, everyone has learned, and is starting to understand.

running 2.7 complete with recovery/cooling mods on 93 octane just fine...... but i i also live in a cooler climate with plenty of cool mountain air at my disposal.... iat2 holding at 135f at the worst...... staged07 is right tho, i feel a 3inch intake, ported head, 3 inch exhaust would be a great help....

You make a good point about living in a cooler climate. That is something people need to take into consideration.... People up north can tend to get away with smaller pulleys, and keep IAT2's under control better than people in the wamer areas. It get's warm here in North Eastern PA during the summer (nothing crazy though), but most of the time it is nice & cool. Great for performance

Yeah trying being here in Az with only about 4 months of so called cold weather. Were always 90* and above with long streaks of 100*+ days. Iats are a bitch to keep down but when you mod the intercooler system right even here I've seen nice iat numbers. These cars have a good factory h/e. It just needs a little help.
