congrats ShortShit on getting the turbo kit installed

i actually really like how "discret" the kit is, i'm considering this as my 2010 fall/winter project

Check your vacuum lines on your bypass for dry rotting or a possible pinhole or cut...

Also... my coolant temp in dash went up to around 190 194... ive NEVER seen those numbers before...
The exhaust leak wouldn't affect the turbo spooling unless it was before the turbo... so all i can say about that is check your header gasket and the gasket connected to your turbo for leaks... either that or your tune, is it only in 1st and 2nd or in every gear? and if you had hp tuners you can check to see if the tune is limited at all

when you switch to turbo and go to the hahn aluminum intake manifold then there is no longer the ability to control boost via the bypass valve as it is no longer in use or even there...

it was his tire hitting the charge piping, i had the same issue (no leak but the potential for one)

i have a question for you shortstack, when your rolling along at say 40mph and punch it does it break the tires loose? and if so what tires are you running, also if it does not have you tried a break boosting 40 roll? and last question do you have G85 (LSD)?

you don't think all those little holes in that wheel thing will restrict the intake, do you?

and why is this in the LSJ section, thats clearly a 2.2, no blower

Nope, no g85... although ive looked into putting one on but just not sure about it yet...

Ive never tried brake boosting... i have good foot coordination so ill give it a shot...

Ive had the tires break loose.. but it actually comes at the top of the gear.. They have spun out though right when i punched in a few times... I literally have NO tread on my front tires.. im getting new ones tonight after work.

I did notice my clutch slip once... so i deff know im hitting some nice power... But i dont really take it past 6k and it wont slip...

What gear do you prefer your 40 rolls in? Maybe second will be quicker with brake boosting... but 3rd seemed to impress me more...

I still do have an exhaust leak and i think the 2.5" might be holding back just a little bit... saving up for hptuners and a boost controller too...

your local auto parts should have GM Victory Red in a little pen-like applicator, they may even have a brush

Craziness...

My only problem now is tires.. i Needz em
I want a car that runs long enough to do that.

Sounds like all the work of switching over is finally seeming 'all worth it'

actually it used to not be etched into the mani it was a red sticker, like the ones they gave you with the kit... you actually have the "nicer model"

but yes i wanted red too... im gonna paint mine black... and leave the hahn in aluminum color... or vise versa i havent decided yet,

third gear is by far def the most impressive. it pulls so long. if your hearing a increase in revs towards the top of rpm id say it is def your tires breaking loose not the clutch, the stock clutch is fine if you treat it with some respect lol

when your tires are low on tread there just gonna spin you wont hear em "squeeling" cause your going 60+ when they start spinning...

if i were you i would run those tires till there slicks, your gonna be like a school girl for the first couple weeks all giddy and ****, running around burning out, blowing off, and so-on use your old tires till you have settled into the power that way when you get new ties you wont thrash on em as bad.

i wish i would have done that, i just spent 800 on new kdw-2 tires, i have less than 8,000 mi on em and there more than half gone...

I just kept telling myself... "Your closer than you think.."

And thats a very good way to look at it.. but they basically slicks.. have been even when i was still sc'd... its getting dangerous i think...

Third was impressive... second is awesome.. but... 3rd just seems to get up and go a little harder...

I tried out brake boosting a second ago... it seemed quite nice... actually... Ill give it a nice little shot later

hip, Did you dyno tune or street tune? Ive always like the idea of tuning on teh street but... someone said i NEEDED a dyno tune.. and that just doesnt sound right to me, i guesss....

Either way im getting hptuners, so i might be asking for a little help then...

Ive got the basics down of figuing out fuel trims... i just need help looking into the maf stuff

Do you think its a better idea to save up for pro hptuners? I really dont think i need it... I mean... i know i can hook up the wideband to it but im just not sure if i can justify the extra 250.
