Wrote to Whipple today ...
My message :
Hi !
The Supercharged Cobalt SS is driven (from the factory) by a Eaton M62 Roots Type (1.0 liter) supercharger, boosting 12 PSI in stock form.
However, the Roots type supercharger isn't as efficient as the Whipple one.
Any plans to offer a uprade soon for this very car ?
Thanks !
Their answer :
I'm sorry, but we do not have any development plans at this time.
Thank you for your interest, XXXX.
So I know it's not an interesting answer but I thought some of you wanted to read it anyway.

The Whipple W100AX would be a good one for us. It's ~$1900.00 for just the blower though. Just need 2 adapters, some minor custom fabrication, and you're good. With as much air as this will move, with less heat created, I think I remember reading ~300whp on an otherwise stock S/C SS(with tuning)! You could probably do the swap for around $2500-$3000 or less if you did it yourself.
Whipple W100AX = $1900.00
Adaptor to connect the whipple to the intake manifold = ~$200.00 (Custom made)
Adaptor to connect throttle body to inlet of blower = ~$150.00
60lb/hr injectors = ~$250.00
HP Tuners = ~$500.00
Grand Total = That's $3K, but I'm sure adaptors aren't that expensive, and I tried to figure somewhat high. Plus, if you already have bigger injectors, and a way to tune, it'll be even cheaper. That would be a pretty sweet setup though.

Here is a good article on it. We have a Gen 5 M62 though, not a Gen 4. According to this guy, the 1.6 whipple will flow ~500 more CFM than our current M62.
