i charge 10 bucks less they do and to be honest thats too little for that amount of time that goes into these and i use to use more expensive materials then they did and different fillers and adhesives. i do however offer an option that consist of sending me yuor bezel which saves you 25 bucks or purchasing a brand new bezel instead and keeping your stock one or i offer a core charge but i only return 15 upon recieving the core.
like i said when YOU make one on your own thats of equal caliber to mine or better you can talk. theres a few guys that do it cheaper on here buy ive only seen one guys worth buying. heres what i use so you can do the material math...... 1 brand new oem supplied bezel, special cut abs plastic piping(use to use pvc), plastic welded for additional strength, a 36 grit 2" and 3" grinding disk, metal rotary grinder bits, 80 120 180 400 800 grit sand paper, sem problem plastic repair adhesive, sem non swell plastic filler, evercoat metal glaze, filler catalyst, 12oz of standox primer, 2oz od standox sealer, 8 oz of standox 167a gm ebony paint.....and this doesnt include the tools i have to build these either such as the spray guns, dremel, grinders, and my hands that do 98% of the sanding.
what you need to realize is these arent injection molded pieces that can still be sold for profit at a much cheaper price. every single one of these is made by hand one at a time. if i would of started making these in 2005 when the cobalts debuted i would of had an injection molded version done but for the 10-20 i make a year it just isnt worth the costs of injection molds ....especially with the car being discontinuted. i would love to see you tell a shop this is too expensive because they would laugh in your face. most shows custom labor rates are a 90-100 an hour and let me tell you one of these from start to finish is at MINIMUM 10 hours and i build these in my personal time which is more valuable to me. even if you wanted to go at a standard body shop rate of 45-55 an hour for a production body shop you couldnt come close to my price.

If anyone had an autoclave and a perfected tool aka a mold it really wouldn't be that hard to make out of carbon fiber...but then again id charge an arm and a leg to cover costs of an autoclave lol.keep in mind this would be more than carbon wrap...think more along the lines of aerospace quality.

like you said its not cheap to have smeone design and do this. not to mention you need a limited run of parts from anyone. that along is probablly a 1000 parts. not worth it to me anymore. i dont make as many as i use to and the cars discontinued

The cluster was a piece of crap. Cracked down the middle, and a big crack where the filler around the pod went back to the bezel itself. hence why i sold the whole setup

the way i do it is i charge XXX.99 for the pod depending on which method you choose. you put half down, i build it and upon completion you send me the other half and THEN it ships to you. the price you listed above i will only build a single pod for the duals quite a bit more if i supply the mod. if your serious you can pm me.

Top Pod Gauge Size
Hi guys,
I ordered a ZZP Dual Pillar Pod for my cobalt ss coupe and I was wondering what size of Gauges will fit in the top Pod?
2 1/16 ... 52mm
2 3/8... 60 mm
Will both size fit in the top Pod?
