ZZP Turbo Swap - Compressor Surge / BOV Leaking??

Recently did a turbo swap, however I haven't been able to figure out what the hell this noise is, at first we thought the Tial knockoff was the culprit but now I'm not sure.

I've emailed ZZP, however we haven't figure out much, hoping for some more input...

Got a little creative and rigged up a GoPro and small led flashlight in the engine bay to see what's going on.. I can't see the bov stutter like the sound suggests.

04 Redline, Full ZZP Swap, S256 non-ET, 3in zzp catback, just under 20psi

Ion Redline - Compressor Surge? - YouTube

Edit: Removed the MBC from the lower port on the WG and no noise (that can be heard). Did multiple pulls w/o any incidents. Could the TurboXS MBC be causing the issue running it on the bottom port with the top left disconnected?

I think I'm going to try a pressure regulator tomorrow, this is what ZZP supplies with the kit, I thought it was somewhat cheesy but it may end up being better than this TurboXS MBC.

I was getting compressor surge with zzp's bov. Bought the tial q and everything is all good now. They really shouldn't be selling the "zzp bov" with whatever spring is in there, it's too stiff.

I believe that's called bov flutter, not really compressor surge. The noise you hear in the video was 100% WOT.

I've changed my setup a bit and seemed to have resolved the issue (hopefully). I connected the bottom port of the wastegate to the charge pipe right after the turbo, ran maybe a foot of hose. Connected the MBC to the intake and then the top port of the wastegate.

Spool seems to have improved, I'm assuming because the wastegate no longer sees vacuum. If you look at the tial install instructions it also shows the bottom port source before the throttle body.

Hopefully this will help anyone that may have the issue in the future, assuming my problem doesn't come back.. lol.

In my case you would hear air surging from the right side of the car and not the left I'm pretty sure it was compressor surge. Anyways now running a better bov with a weaker spring and problem is solved.
