i dont think a 07 g5 with the standard 2.2 had vvt did it??? i think the 2.2 got vvt in 09 when the stopped using the 2.4L. am i right?
when my wifes 2200 cavi timing chain tensioner went bad jumped 2 or 3 teeth check engine light never came on.

Sorry to just jump in on this guys, but my car just all of a sudden out of the blue just started running REALLY loud yesterday. Not 100% sure yet, but my wrench is leaning it towards being the timing chain/tensioner. No codes, just louder than the 1972 IH pickup my hubby's restoring. (And I know Cobalts aren't exactly quiet, but they're not supposed to run THAT loud either!)
