there is also the weight advantages. mechanical weighs more. you also get rid of the tstat housing, lines, that annoying water line thats right under the turbo manifolds that people hate, oil cooler, hvac lines, ac condensor, compressor. theres about an 80lb weight savings(from what i weighed) plus the cooling benefits

yeah. those two above plus these.

no coolant line under the manifold.

block off plate.

mounting bracket.

coolant line that runs from the pump, under the engine, back up here. plus the waterpump block off plate

Thermostat block off

My entire belt system and a view of the line

oil cooler block off

heres a shot of the line to the radiator. plus how the engine bay looks without all the clutter of the hvac and coolant lines

Wife is bitching so I'm seeing if it sells. If not then I will continue.

Found that the flywheel is cracked and the spec clutch is ****. So I have to buy new of both.

At least your spec lasted 40k miles, mine lasted 5k then they blamed it on brand new GM flywheel.

FIRST POST UPDATED:

UPDATE 12/8/11:

Well here are some pics from pulling the motor. I havent gotten the bottom end apart yet but i did get the head off. The valves in cylinder #1 are bent from the piston free floating in the cylinder. Luckly i have another head that i can canabalize for parts.

Also i am going to make a few changes and additions to the parts list. I am talking to ZZP about their LE5 clutch kit since my Spec clutch is now in the landfill.

Anyways on to the pics:

I know you are just giving a possible answer to a question, but I hope that this is no true for people. If someone looks at it like that, building motors or modding cars is not something meant for him.
