My idle was origninally left at the stock value ( 7-800ish). It ran a little rough when it was in gear. When we did the final tune, I asked him to bump up it to 1,000. Now it runs fine.
CordiaDOHC, it's more econmical to tune at the end of your mods so you don't have to retune.........but its not always best. Idk about your car, but mine had some pretty major hesiatation issues after I installed the header and downpipe.

I just thought of this, cant the cars programming be changed for upgraded wheel and tire size as well? I have noticed that my 2.2 is about 2 mph off when I have my 17's on with 235/45 tires.

the tune is great... kinda wish I would have known a bunch more like you do before I got tuned...
might be useful after I get 2.4 IM to get a tune something similar to yours...
FYI... I go up to about 82 in third and about 110 in third... pretty sweet huh..?!?!

So is there any "expertise" needed to tune the car? Because I really don't know anything about tuning or is it just a plug and push a button to install thing? Because I was debating getting a shop/tuner to do it for me. But not if it's something that just about anyone can do.
Thanks!
Thanks!

When you use Trifecta, you email your list of mods to the company. They re-work the programming accordingly and send a handheld unit that plugs into the OBD port underneath the dash. You hit a button and the handheld does its thing. Drive the car around with the handheld still plugged in, it records information from the car. Email that back to trifecta along with any complaints and they will create another file to download to the car. This is repeated until you are satisfied with the car. You need not know anything about the tuning process.

From what I understand about that is the tuning is a set price and you also pay for the handheld device but when you send it back to Trifecta, you get that amount back. Kinda like Loan-a-tool at Autozone.
This may help

oh okay. then it is really gonna be the same price in the end. and it's prolly worth it to do it myself since i dont have to keep running back up to a shop 3 hours away to get it done. I can upload all the information onto my car and plug it into my own computer to download redone tunes and everything. seems like that would be a much better idea.

Yeah, I for one like the idea of having the handheld to do it myself. It is going to cost $250 for the tune plus shipping both ways. That should be under $300 total. You also have a "hold" or deposit on your credit card for $200 which is returned as soon as they get the handheld back....very simple.

I paid $485 up front and got $200 back when I returned the equipment.
