Hey, has anyone seen my tall boots? The bullshit is getting too deep to wade around in.
I find it funny that LS/LT owners are promising breakthrough to 200 WHP when the SS/NA guys are still trying to figure that one out....
And there really hasn't been any Trim hating in this thread. Trust me, I've seen it, this isn't it. Some of the SS/SC guys came in here with genuine suggestions and recommendations to go F/I to easier achieve that mark, At least one mentioned possibly trading in for a higher trim. Threads like this used to get locked it was so bad.

just to state I never intended on doing my head, when my cams were first installed incorrectly, and dropped the valvetrain,i said"**** it' and did up the head,ya i got gains from the head and cams, but I have not done any supporting mods since then, trust me if i could turn back time i would not have paid that kinda money, and would have preferred to wait for the now Rebelmotors sc kit for the 2.4,i might be able to handle on heck of a big shot, but whoopeedee,i'm not putting nitrous on my car either.

I don't think anyone is hating on us 2.2s. Its just that too many of us use rice math and add up the horsepower on every part we install...and then some. Point is, in order to get 200whp out of the 2.2 without going f/i or on the bottle, you are going to have to build a high compression, high revving engine with a new valvetrain, new cams, and a whole lot of headwork. Basically, it can be done, but you will have to dig deep. If that is your thing, then more power to you. I think the guys were just trying to throw some reality into the mix due to certain claims of power output on a mostly stock 2.2

I have to stick up for brandon aka bc3 because he was one of the first to do it. He was using a DFMU to start and was making 188whp. Thats pretty impressive especially because he was not pulling timing and had a horrible tune(not your fault B!). The day he blew his motor(or close to) he had put new spark plugs in, and we believe that the 2.2's ignition system is very touchy(There is a thread with explaination on ionforums . net) and doesnt take kindly to new spark plugs. Do not use his example as a waste because it certainly wasnt. Im sure he will chime in here soon =P
yeah I was not picking on him. Just using him as an example. He's from the midwest so he is a good guy!
