i have the gt tuner kit which is a complete turbo kit without tuning. tuner meaning you have to be a tuner to use it . any of the kits below the gt tuner kit are if you are to going to fab up your own charge pipes and stuff

The tuner kit is just a hardware kit with no fuel or ignition tuning included.
When it gets released, the Alpha kit will have tuning supplied via a flash tuner from SCT. There is no piggyback.

The tuning that SCT supplies won't support the auto tranny because of the TCM, correct? Or are they working on that?
I'd like a good, solid (i.e. well-tested and reliable) bolt-on turbo kit for my auto... but I'm guessing no one will ever come out with the tuning for it. Whatever market there is for a turbo 2.2, there's probably even less for an auto 2.2.
I know that piggybacking is an option, but I don't want to put that much time and energy into getting the tuning to work (ironing out all the bugs, making sure it's safe for the engine, reliable, etc, etc.).

A piggy back will do nothing for your trans.
Here is what you do. Buy the kit and install the flash tune. At this point, your engine is done.
Now, go to a tuner shop that has the SCT software package. They can then give you a simple trans tune.
OR, you can use the Shiftplus unit.

So its ok to drive the car without the tranny un-tunned? When I was talking to the guy at garrett he said that it would slip if you drove it light or hard without it being un-tunned.
