2.2 guy. Is he full of ****?
O.K. I ran into a guy at work today who said that he just ordered a supercharger kit for his 2.2 L. Is ther a new kit out or is this guy full of ****. He said that he was building a sleeper and he was going to put a set of ss/sc wheels on it. I called him out on the wheels but i wasnt shure about the supercharger so i didnt say anything.

You guys are mistaken. The physicality of the kit will work...
- Same Bolt Pattern for the manifold
- Same dimension motor
- Same Crank Pulley
- Same ribbed belt
Everything about the kit will work but there will be no reflash available.
Also, one thing I'm not sure about is which way your intake leads towards...if it goes towards the driverside, than there shouldn't be any problems with that either.

and the intake routes to the passenger side but theres still room on the drivers side.

for the intake you would just use the 2.0 ss/sc intake , and there is a few parts in the kit you wont use , like the tb adaptor since all the cobalts are drive by wire , and the j's are cable
as for wheels that is pretty funny since he has 4lug wheels , and the ss and ss/sc are 5 , he will have fun with that 1

I think this guy is prob full o ****. I asked him today what brand supercharger it was and he said he didnt know I cant remember. No one drops a bunch of coin on something like a supercharger not knowing what kind it is or who makes it. I dont think this guy has the resources or knowledge to even begin a s/c install mutch less a full ecm tune. I know anything can be done with the right amount of money and the right equipment though.

Can't you just take a copy tune of the ECU/PCM from a salvage yard SS/SC and throw it in place? Same motor but none of the cool stuff like the direct squirt oil passages in the cylinders and no intercooler. hmphh...

Yeah I thought the same too then I did some more digging into and realized its like just bc same engine...the kit won't work due to placement of different things, etc.
