Theres gotta be a better way to test for leaks.
If you are "so smart" when it comes to shifting an auto trans how the hell dont you know the easy way to pressure check?

so why cant you simply smoke check it and see where the smoke is coming out?

No reason to bitch, I was just makeing a simple observation that apparently these "profesional" friends of yours tell you this **** and it is wrong but they cant tell you how to smoke check something?

Well I have it 100% leak free right now. I have had it up on rhyno ramps.. had my g/f sittin in the car giving gas. My friend capping the exhaust every few seconds. I ran my hand over the whole exhaust piping. NO leaks. Every little spot I could find w/ carbon scoring, was fixed up w/ thermoseal.

As of right now the ONLY places I could think of that could logically make the sound i'm hearing would be metal vibrating. I'm wondering if its the flex pipe, or that heat shielding stuff.

On a cobalt ..is that heat shielding even necessary? What risks would I be taking removing it? Also could I just pretty much paint some muffler mender or thermo seal on my flex pipe if I find out this is what is causing it?

It sounds LOW and deep now w/ the 18" resonator replacing the 12" that was standard on my exhaust setup. I am content w/ the loudness for the moment as I could always put on a bigger resonator later.

The low sound I'm getting is the main reason why I think the leak issue is out of the window right now. Its something else causing this noise as its only noticible under hard acceleration, and at 3k and higher. Half throttle I can barley hear it unless I'm driving next to a concrete wall.

The Thrush Turbo sounds amazing, and I got it from Jegs for only $40 shipped. It's made by Dynomax
Were you referring to using that muffler as a resonator on top of my existing muffler?
