I like the 3 inch exhaust even though I lose a little bit of low end power my high end is insane. so it compensates alot and once I do the 2.4 intake manifold swap I will be taking in even more air so it won't be too bad

Its not the loss of backpressure like someone said. Its the loss of exhaust velocity in the low rpms that does it. In the high rpms however, there is alot more exhaust gas coming out, so the larger exhaust helps there. With an n/a 2.2 though, I bet there is no gain between a 2.5" and a 3" in the high rpms and the 2.5" would have a better low end.
Then you will really have no low end acceleration, but to each his own. IMO you wouldn't be able to spin your engine fast enough to make that combo worth the low/mid end loss.

agreed. if ur going for top end cam and tune it and maybe get a shorty header... i got one for sale if your not SAI

SAI is secondary air injection. mostly 07 models but i think some newer 06's may have had it. there is a line that runs from header area to the intake (from what i heard)
