2.2 Turbo Kit
Alright... I'm going to stick my neck out on this. But I have a question. I have done quite a bit of research on this site. And I know kits like this are bashed... To make a long story short I am looking for some opinions.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_7216wt_939
Worth the money? It has alot of extra stuff I know, but I'm simply looking to Turbo my 06 2.2 low boost and work my way up piece by piece. I don't want to spend $2600+ for the ZZP kit plus have to worry about if anything goes wrong too. For this price I will have some extra money to buy anything extra or fix anything that breaks.
Want to know if anyone has tried this kit or knows someone who has tried this kit. Don't want to blow my car up but at the same time I'm not looking for the fastest car on the block right off the bat. Getting this kit I'd plan on upgrading the turbo later on and then internals. Goal with this kit will be right at 200whp. Let me know what you guys think.

Ebay kit......you get what you pay for.
I turbo'd mine with the garret kit and not one problem but I spent the money to make sure I had a kit that was designed for the car.
The zzp kit is the newest out on the market and in my experience dont cheap out and get the smaller stage kit. I have not had my garrett kit for more than a year and I am bored of 10 psi. So the bigger the zzp stage kit the more boost you can run. I would recommend the zzp kit if u have the money.
Building a kit from scratch is not that hard either if you have done a lot of research. Like the post above me. The lnf mani, turbo, dp, oil/coolant lines would be a good way to go if you can find all the parts. IF not you can buy parts like vulcan turbo mani and intake mani, ur own turbo of choice, all ur oil and or coolant lines, ur own custom made ic piping etc.
It is all in how much money you have, the knowledge, and ur mechanical ability and or connections with ppl who can help.
I was told to save more money than necessary incase I ran into problems
If you are looking to stay under 12 psi you wont have to build the motor and all internals.
But you need to take into consideration the price of the tune, new clutch, flywheel, TOB, price to install clutch etc if you have a shop do it. The price of your chosen injector size and wiring harness.
A lot of time and thought goes into planning a turbo build.
I built mine without building the motor 1st. Now that I am bored of 10-11 psi I am saving up to build my internals in the motor to withstand more power. Than boost controller and I am pushin my garrett turbo to its max lol
good luck with all the decisions you make and def keep us informed with any ?'s or concerns

Some things I forgot to mention. I did plan as well to get zzp injectors ($200) and tune from traffica. Oh and it's an auto tranny. I did think about getting the 2.4 TB but wouldnt the 2.2 be enough for now?
I can install everything myself and a few other friends who have custom turbo setups but I just wanted advice from the best car owners directly.

id get a garret or zzp kit if ur starting off. I pieced mine together, while it is cheaper, if you dont know what your doing its easy to get into trouble fast.

Garret/ZZP/Hahn kits are the only 3 you should look at kit wise if you are not doing your own piece together. eBay turbochargers are cheap chineese pieces of crap that will end up failing.
For the 2.2L, you can use the 2.4L kits on it, but you will need to use Trifecta for the tuning as the included tuners for most of the 2.4L kits won't work. Physically, everything will mount up.

well u get oil to the turbo by the galley plugs on the back side of the motor or the side of the motor. That is for the feed line!
The drain line from the turbo goes either into the oil pan or the large galley spot on the block. It will need drilled out and taped.
That is where I tapped on my car for the drain line
This pic is taken from another member.
It is sideways but you get the idea where that galley spot is
you can see the galley plugs right under the coolant pipe. and to the right is exactly where I tapped for my kit just like this pic bc I have the same kit

thats the best place to do it.
i did it in the pan high up so i dosent pool. But i also put a nut on the inside because our pans are so soft and thin. just extra precaution. I actually have another pan at home that is tapped if you wanted to buy it.
