Yea I used qwiksteel and filled em halfway then bondo and sanded. It didn't come out right for me(I'm super picky) so I scrapped it.
I've been meaning to ask some how they've gone about it. I'm going to try and weld them up to a point and then add something on top to see if it holds up. One guy told me he just used qwiksteel and then sanded down.

I bought a later model 2.2L cover and a VVT one, for either an LE5 or LAP. So I'll have whatever you need to fit your car by the end of the week.
What didn't come out right? Just the sanding process?

Yea I was time constrained and rushed it. Had flat spots in certain places, and higher in others. I didn't want to take the time to redo it since I had little free time so I scrapped it and just painted a spare on I had.

Bump this up. Have a 2.2 later model cover ready for paint, looking for ideas. I did a VVT one that looks great, posted up in another thread, low-gloss black with a brush-finish on the raised pad and lines. Thinking of something similar on this one or just two-tone paint, I know a couple people wanted red letters on a black cover.
