well just got the lsj manifold, so now if I can just find the dp to put it all together with my GMPP Touring I'll be ready to go!

Hey, a shop near me is going to make me a custom exhaust and intake for quite a good deal. Before I go through with it though I was just wondering if a full exhaust, with downpipe, and an air intake would throw any cels in my car? Thanks guys.

I have a CAI. 2.4 mani and a cat back installed on my 07. i dont see why it would throw any cel. it hasnt on mine so far. i have a header and DP on the way. i dont see any reason why a custom exhaust would do that., unless there was some reason like there is no cat. i have heard of that doing it on some cars. not all cars tho

There will be an aftermarket cat on it. I just wanted to make sure. This is the first car the I've bought and started putting money into. So I don't want to drop close to a grand on it and find out a week later that it threw a cel. Haha, I'm just always nervous about investments like this haha. Thanks for the response!

The 07's LS/LT/SS-NA have the same manifold as the LSJ. Just need to be manually honed out. The 05-06's are the only ones with the restrictive ports. If you have an 07 all you need is the DP.

I would be weary about letting a shop make me an intake unless they are familiar with our cars and our MAF.

as long as they narrow the pipe down around the MAF though u should be fine.

The place I'm having doing it is actually a vendor on this site, and they have worked with my brothers car (2.0) two or three times now. All they really work on is cobalts, so I think I'm good there.

I had a 2.25" exhaust done. I wonder if I should've done a 2.5" instead. What do you guys think?

ok so im being lazy....I just was looking at putting the LSJ manifold on and I dont feel like removing the sheild over the mani along with some bolt and probably the valve cover to do so. ITs allready 85 LOL....Is replacing the mani as much of a pain as it looks?

Its not as bad as it looks, this is how I did it. Jacked the car up, took off the three bolts holding the heat shield on. Next, get under the car and unbolt the manifold from the down-pipe. Its easier to do this before unbolting the manifold from the head. I didn't take off anything else, then proceeded to take off all of the manifold bolts. Once you have them off, unplug the O2 sensor, and fanagle the manifold out. unscrew the O2 sensor, and then repeat process in reverse. It took me about an hour to swap the manifold and down-pipe all at once. Not that hard, but be prepared for some busted knuckles get the manifold bolts un-done.

as long as you do it sooner rather than later then you're all good. Eventually those little bolts holting the heat sheild on get real hard to take off. After about 70k, if they've never been removed before, you can expect at least one to break.

What do you guys think would increase the 2.2's power the most?

A full LSJ Exhaust system meaning the header, dp, and cat-back exhaust

or

An aftermarket header, dp, and cat-back exhaust?

and since im already here... are there any intake manifolds available for the 2.2 beside the 2.4? I heard theres one from the Saab 9-3 turbo but im not sure if its a direct fit....any aftermarket options?
