alright thanks guys. 300hp is all I want to push anyway (trying for close to 300hp at the wheels). I am going to use the SS transmission (f35) and limited slip differential. So there is no reason to make more than 300hp as I will not have a drivetrain that can take it and be a reliable daily driver.
my plan was to use the AEM F.I.C., as for the intake manifold, I am going to use the 2.4L H.O. kit but I'm sure it will only take about 350hp as well, before poofing.

about the T3/T4 turbo if you go to your local pep boys or auto zone they have a book filled with after market performance parts turbonetics makes a T3/T4 turbo kit for the 05+ cobalt's I'm sure there's a way to order it. the Garrett turbo kit is a good kit from what i hear but it's for a quick boost and only gives around a 70-80 horse power increase. a good place to look for mods to push the ecotec engine to 300-400 horse power is if you look at this build book i found on www.gmtunersource.com it's a 108 page build book that list everything from forged internals to turbochargers and super chargers you should give it a look you can either buy it or down load it using acrobe reader i got it down loaded but I'm going to buy the book. good luck let me know how it turns out.

Hahn is the best kit to go with if your going pre built kit..
like rossin said do your research there is a massive amount of learn.. read the GM build book over and over and learn what your motor is capable of.. If your going to do it right your going to be spending well over 4-5grand if not more..
my motor alone needs a lot of work.. i am a 2.2 auto.. lets name just the motor parts alone
Diamond 9.5:1 pistons
Crower or Eagle Forged rods
Cometic Head gasket
Arp head studs
Lets move on..
Hahn 2.2 gt tuner kit but added injectors with kit custom from hahn, alpha kit has tune which wont work for autos, waste there so gt tuner kit is fine but ask hahn to include injectors. a tad bit more money..
Tuning which will hopefully be done soon as i am one of 2 testers for clearimage for the tunning..
id go all 3inch exhaust..
ZZP downpipe 3inch stainless with highflow magnaflow catalyic convertor and wideband bung insert
Hahn 3inch catback
now that, thats out of the way
Tranny cooler (b&m makes some nice cheap ones for 40 bucks and up)
now your going to need traction
Engine and tranny mount made by turbotechracing
definately better breaks (i have stoptech slotted rotors and hawk ceramic bads)
I recommend new lowering springs because of nose dive problems and better cornering with all that power
Your going to need gauges and pods..
Autometer 3 gauge pod sold at cobalt-addiction and ZZP.. ZZP sells it 20 dollars cheaper for the same exact product.
The gauges should consist of boost, oil pressure, tranny temp, wideband.. i am going all cobalt series electric for the ease of use for me, but electric is more expensive then mechanical gauges..
also i am getting the cobalt addiction steering wheel column pod which sites behind the steering wheel and holds one gauge which will be my boost gauge
I think thats about all you'll need so far..
Hope ya helps cut some time for ya.. Everything i picked out was researched and has been shown to me by people here turboed and from very very knowledgeable people

1000 dollars cheaper and a lot more problems can come, plus when you have someone fab the pipiing and install the tune, its not going to be 1000 dollars cheaper.. i have made calls for fabiing and stuff and your lucky to save 500..
and remember hahn is coming out with the 20g versions for us..
one has portfueler with manifold and one with just the manifold.. and both those can handle over 400hp..
custom is fine, but prepare for problems if not done right..
you realize there is like 4 hahn kits right.. now all of them including everything.. you can just get the turbo, manifold and small downpipe attachment to hook to your downpipe.. next set has the oil lines and what not, then next piping and stuff, then alpha which has tuning.. so you dont have to buy the complete.. but id at least go with the 2nd model that included the oil and water lines.

ok wow, a lot of awsome info here.
Cobalt4life, the parts you listed I have found and knew thats what I would need as far as preparing my engine for some boost.
can someone please send me a link to the Hahn kits. I found Hahn's website but the kit they had on there was the Garrett kit. I am a little confused.

yea my car is paid off. I wasn't ever interested in modfying my cobalt because #1 it was my wifes car, #2 I grew up on rear-wheel drive #3 I had my truck BUT I traded my truck in for a bigger truck for my wife and I took her car.
I want to modify it because #1 it is paid off #2 I wanted a project #3 the car has a strong aftermarket #4 after moving (military) I had it weighed before (loaded) and after (empty) and it was only 2660!!!! with like 1/4 tank and no one in it.

thats a pretty good weight, the power to weight ratio must be pretty good, i think I'm going to buy parts one at a time and install them when i get them and then have the turbo installed last, i wanna beat my boss he has a 99' civic hatchback that has a fully built B18 engine that's turbo charged, i beat him from the start but once he hits third gear he's gone, i wanna be able to shut him up, all he does is talk smack about cobalt's either that or kick his ass either one will work lol

yea I am not a fan of Honda's, mostly because of the crowd that has mainly become associated with those cars. Some guys can build fast cars regardless. I dislike guys that slap on a performance muffler and go around racing people and thinking their car is the SHIZNIT.
I am having a lot of fun with my project so far and I havn't even bought anything for it. A big part of my project is going to be getting rid of weight. I am going with a carbon fiber hood and trunk lid. lightweight alluminum forged wheels, getting rid of the back seats/floor matts, trunk matt and spare tire/jack. I hope to have my car sitting at like 2500-2550 with 1/8 tank and no one in it.

that an even better weight, i hear you about those Honda guys when I'm driving around town and the pull up to me acting like there car is the ****, and they pipe me i get really aggravated but it's ok though because as soon as the lights turn green i just take off and burn them, then when i see them at the next light they just give me all kinds of excuses like they miss shifted of there running on two cylinders or some bs like that. just this past Wednesday i went to albertsons to go buy some food and on my way home a navy blue colored Toyota corolla type s pulls up and the dude rolls down his window and looks at me and revs his engine so i rev mine back thinking ok so the light turns green i smoked him so bad it's not even funny so after the race the guy thought he could scare me by following my every move i made, i pulled back into third and smoked him again it was freaking hilarious
