Hahn doesnt make a turbo for the 2.2L yet.. its the 2.4 turbo kit.. Garrett has a kit for us though... I would do it if you want to have the same power as a stock ss/sc

if im not mistaken garrett does include some sort of tuning
GarrettŽ Turbo Alpha Kit (P/N 766621-1):2005-2006 Manual Transmission Only
GT Tuner Kit items
Engine Control Unit
Larger-than-Stock Fuel Injectors
Garrett Brand Boost Gauge
tuning via STC Livewire:
33. Reflash Engine Control Module (ECM) – insert key and turn to ON position. Turn off
headlights manually to minimize chances of reflash failure. Plug the Livewire tool
into the OBD II port (located under the dashboard, left of the steering column).
Scroll through menus and verify vehicle VIN displayed on device matches your VIN.
Select “Program Vehicle” from the main menu. The device may prompt you for
vehicle tire size. There are two options: 195 and 205. Choose the tire size that was
original equipment on your vehicle, or the size closest to its current tires. Once
reflash begins, the device will display progress. Reflash should take approximately 8
minutes to complete. Once the process is complete, the vehicle lights will turn on.
Unplug the device, turn the key back to OFF and then start the engine. Make sure
the idle is smooth, with no excessive stumbling or wandering idle speed. If there is
any problem with reflash or if idle is excessively rough or unsteady, turn off ignition
and repeat procedure. Verify that the headlights do not turn on again automatically
before restarting reflash. If you wish to return the vehicle to stock tune at any time,
start the device as instructed above and go to “Check Engine” in the main menu.
Subsequently the vehicle can be reflashed once again with the turbo tune as you
desire.
-----
so more of a flash then actual tuning
-----------
It seems that Hahn & Garrett are working togetherish...
If you notice Garrett sells the 2.2 kit, but the 2.4 link is to Hahn,
and Hahn has the 2.4 kit, but 2.2 is linked to Garrett.

hell, take a glance at the install manual:
http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...structions.pdf
its 13 pages, but the first 3 1/2 pages are disclaimers... so 10pages 1/2 of each page are pictures... its only 34 steps

so is it actually possible to turbo a 2.2 with out too much hassle? i mean i herd some people on the forums saying it is a dumb idea, but if it is possible, i might do this soon.

Yes its possible, now as far as how "simple" the install is IDK. I can only reference the instructions on Hahns site. I would assume if you didnt have alot of mechanical ability and/or can afford to have a shop do it, it would probably be easier/safer to have someone with experiance install it.

until garret came out with their reflash there was no "tuning" available for the 2.2
i am still waiting for solid tuning, i currently have the Alpine stg. 2 kit with a piggy back system and have not installed it yet due to insuffucient tuning.

07 owners should be looking into how simple it really is to boost our cars. You get either an SMT-6 or FIC. Get an intake manifold that has ports for extra injectors. Have a 2nd fuel rail and tune those 4 injectors to run off a MAP sensor read by either the FIC or SMT-6. You could easily buy the Saab intake manifold and have someone weld in some injector ports. Actaully what we are considering doing with my setup. Im running into a problem where 60lb high impedence injectors arent going to be large enough. they are only good for about 380whp and im gonna be beyond that. So having stock injectors plus a whole 2nd rail of 42lb'ers or 60lbers would give me a combined total of 84lb'ers. Easy 500whp =P
Now you 07' guys should seriously send me a PM, i can get you guys setup with tuning very easily. Yes it would be piggyback, but there are about 3 or 4 different ways to do it, and all being safe and reliable.

the problem is when it comes to tuning spark.
The 02-04 reluctor ring is 7 teeth
the 05+ is like 52? teeth so it's much more accurate.
If i were going to "piggback" the spark signal I would do it with a 05+ motor.
but yea a 2nd fuel rail would be simple, cause all you would have to worry about is WOT tuning.

also fuel pump, if you have all injectors firing at once, that's a huge pressure drop.
but if you have it in batch (1&4 fire, then 2&3) then it's alright.
But in my opinion i'd rather get the turbo in it's sweet spot, and tune my fuel and spark from there.
