doubtful, switching from conventional to synthetic, Isn't a big deal, no matter the mileage. Also I would most likely say it was neglet on your company's part.

I switched to Castrol Synth at 20,000 and I haven't had one internal problem with this baby as of yet....

im going to go with neglect..
also you could send the oil in to have it analized. they would be able to tell you what went wrong just by looking at some of the oil..
