^^^lol
You need tuning. You'll have to get a piggyback, because no one supports our PCM. Unless of course you have an '07, in which case HPtuners should be supporting you soon.

Don't be a dick, atleast it isn't another intake or exhaust thread.....
I HIGHLY doubt hptuners will support us 07s, i HOPE i am wrong (believe me i REALLY do) but i don't think we will get support anytime "soon"

There is a How-To about supercharging a non S/C motor.
It's for the 2.4L but its still relevant to us because all the hardware needed is the same.

That thread will help out some... but the 2.4 has tuning(besides FI/C or Piggy Back) So i will make a slight difference.

If you have questions just ask. going to need the ss alt. bolts ss alt bracket, ss idler pulley, ss belt tensioner, ss belt and cut one rib off, either extend your wires for the mass air flow sensor or make a jumper harness like i did, need to extend the wires for the map sensor, need tuning like AEM, no question's asked you need a wide band o2 sensor and gauge boost gauge, if you are going to run more then 7 pounds then you need some sort of cooling.

There shouldn't be that much of a difference between the 2 engines to make it work.

I know this has probably been considered, but what about repinning the harness to accept a 2003+ J-body PCM (which is supported by HPT)? Also adding in the mechanical TB in exchange for fly-by-wire and MAP in place of MAF. Junkyard J's are prevalent.
There shouldn't be that much of a difference between the 2 engines to make it work.

Someone back me up here. Half-Cent?

yeah that wouldn't work because the cobalt have what the call CAN network whick means that all the modules in the car talk to each other. the cavys didn't have this and you would run into alot of problems

hey misfit why do you need the ss alt ???? do you even know why you have to cut one rib off the belt..?? where are these vids you promised at christmas???? i think you did something wrong when you tried to put the sc on a 2.2 cobalt.... i know every thing to do and what not to do becouse i did this first......... 1 baby BTW 25000 miles and counting, with 15psi and look out heres the punch line you ready??????????? 270 whp... bam baby so i just told everyone what my real numbers... are and have the dynos to back them up....
one more thing if you run more then 7psi why do you need cooling???? i think me and you need to share some info with these people who follow these type of threds....

i said you need the ss alt bolts not the alt. need to cut one rib off the belt because 2.2 pulleys are 5 rib ss has 6. in two weeks my car is getting tuned fulley... yellowshowbalt thought you said you put yours back to stock or are you lying.

no im not lying....... there was someone who was going to buy my setup so i took it off... they wanted to see the car before i took it off i even let them drive my car with me in it of corse.... then they said they wanted it. and would be back later that week to get it... so i took it off that was 3week ago.. they never came back... i called them, there # was disconected . they waisted my time.. they basicly just wanted to see my setup but dident have the ***** to just say that........
my bad when i read your post above it looked like you was saying you needed the ss alt too... i must have read it to fast and mised your wrong placed ..............s ooooops all theother pully are fine its the ac pulley is smaller then the rest thats why you need to cut one rib off the belt becouse it hangs over the ac pulley.. if you would i would like to see better pics of the engine compartment

Yellow Show Balt...where did you get dyno'd.
I love your car but I don't think there is any way you are making 270whp.
NO Cobalt SS even can make that kind of power without cooling mods and meth injection.
I think if you were told 270 then you were BS'd.
If you have a dyno chart I'll eat my words.

thats fair redbasebolt.... at tackyion on a mustang dyno in louisville ky.. i have a fully ported supercharger and a 2.8 pully and a real close to lean tune for my car with cooling mods and meth but thats was barowed from a good friend of mine.... in less the machine was wrong i know what i read and what they printed off for me... soon as i get off work ill post the data..... i hope you have some good hot sauce for those words of yours.........lol......ha ha... theres anouther reason why i keep blowing the diffs out of my car.... ps theres anouther dyno day that im signed up for on feb 16 at a different place.. its at automotion in louisville ky they have a dynojet my friend going to let me barrow his 60 injectors and 2.8 with meth again.. to see if we can get it a little higher.. ive changed my cams since my last dyno and did some light porting on the head... so if it doesent blow it will be right at the breaking point i figure....

no i did not build the engine.. its all stock except for the exhaust and cold air intake and of corse the supercharger and now with cams and light porting, what i mean by light porting is the exhaust and intake ports were matched up to my supercharger intake and exhaust manafold.. ow yea i changed my head gasket becouse im running more boost but thatsall that has been done to the engine.... im running the stage 2 setup around town and when i go to the dyno i put the meth on and change the pully and injectors and load my other tune

whaaa, trying to compare a nitrous'd engine to force feeding supercaharger on stock internals? dude, most engines can't handle nitrous worth ****, much less most daily driven nitrous cars. nitrous is much more brutal and crude.
