2.2L: What have you done so far?
I would like to know what you have done to your 2.2's so far. I think I may just mod my auto 2.2L instead of waiting to buy an SS or something in about 4-5 years. I am especially interested in what people have done to their automatic 2.2's (need to know what to do to trans to be able to handle power). Though, any 2.2 mods are welcome to be suggested. I just want to know performance (intake, exhaust, suspension, engine, transmission, etc.). I would also like to know where you may have gotten your parts, price, and power gains, if possible.
Thanks
Thanks

number one, I was shorted one washer
two, the clamp I was sent was pretty pointless because it doesn't even fit over the extension piece
third, its not even possible to clamp the exhaust because the stock piping needs to be cut right before the cat
and fourth, the ball joint design definitely needs some improvement on as its prone to leaking...the extension piece provided is not sufficient at all.
other than that, the header itself is decent

Check out my vBGarage. It tells you what I have already done. (Not much, but is a start!)

So far its been some of the basic necessities, as I am in between work and school and can mod when I can. I have done springs, wheels and tires, cat-back, intake, short shifter, front strut tower brace, and some other appearance things. Very happy with where it stands now and cant wait till next winter when I will be working again, as I have plans to do the entire exhaust (finishing up with header and down pipe and so on) and hopefully a few more suspension things (anti-sway kit if it ever comes out ha, and hopefully coilovers). Hope this helps!

anyway:
- k&n drop in (temporary)
- gm chrome grill
- short throw shifter
- dc sport strut bar
- auto dimming rearview mirror
- 18" wheels, 'Z' rated tires
- tire monitoring system
to come:
- misc drivetrain mods
- turbo (maybe)
- corsa touring exhaust
- custom header (unless someone comes out with a 4-2-1)
- custom VVT (in progress, on hold until summer)
- custom ECU (unless GM gets their **** together by summer)
- CF hood

I have a nitrous express wet kit setup. By next summer I should have all of the following upgraded...
exaust
intake
headers
suspension
wheels and tires
internals (maybe)
As for power gains from the nitrous express wet kit I havn't dyno'd it or anything but I say it will bring a STOCk engine up to about 210 on 75 shot (safest shot on a stock engine) So once i throw in a new intake, headers and exaust I should be pretty close to 250 WHP( if not past it) Then it is time to upgrade the internals

I have the auto 2.2L and I have a Pacesetter Cat-Back exhaust, Weapon R Intake, and the DC Sports Strut Bar. Once summer comes around I'm planning on getting new Spark Plugs, a larger Throttle Body, Higher Flowing Intake Manifold, Header, 2.5" High Flow Cat, Stage 1 Cams, RSM Light Weight Crank Pulley, and I might try and Get JET to make me a custom computer chip so I can get the most gains from everything. Hopefully I'll have around 200 whp when I get this all done. I'm also looking to get 17" rims, lowering springs, anti sway bars, and 35% tint sometime soon.

Well even though I don't have a Cobalt...I still have a 2.2 ECO
Just engine/performance wise...
Garrett T3/T4 50 Trim Turbo
38 MM Tial Wastegate (5 PSI Spring)
CCFab Turbo Manifold w/Jet Hot 2000 Coating
2 1/2" Charge Piping
Front Mount Intercooler
RFL style BOV (probably replacing soon)
Cartech FMU (probably removing soon)
320 CC Ford Red Top Injectors
2 1/2" Downpipe (running open downpipe for now)
Jbody Performance Stage 1 Camshafts
Patriot Performance Stage 2 Cylinder Head (5 angle valve job and replaces all the valvetrain internals)
RK Sport Underdrive Crank Pulley
RK Sport Motor Mounts
Auto Trans Interceptor
Hayden Transmission Cooler
RSM 62 MM Throttle Body
Soon I will be getting the GM reflash...
That's about it.
