i think the 190tq (or whatever it is) limit is just because no one has ever really took the F23 to its breaking point? just a guess...

actually the tq rating is 170 lb ft. which would mean that the 2.4 would break it and thats not the case. (correct me if Im wrong, but the SS NA uses the F23?)
yea I was initially worried, cuz I want to make almost 400 hp and then I thought I was going to be limited by the damn tranny. BUT now I am limited by the damn axles, no one makes aftermarket ones for my car yet.
btw, I just wanted to let you guys know about the build I'm doing with the M62! I am trying to make around 400 crank hp
Engine: forged rods/pistons(8.9:1 compression ratio), rod and crank bearings, patriot performance stage 2 head with valvetrain, comp cams "blower" grind cams, CA shorty header (1.7" primaries), 3" downpipe and ZZP 3" cat-back, 60# injectors
I will port the inlet/outlet of the S/C, I am going to do some porting to the intake manifold also, and plug the holes on the S/C. I will use a 2.75 - 2.8 pulley. I'm also using the LSJ oil pan.
I am doing A LOT of other work to suspension and driveline, also getting the car to 2550 lbs.
just wanted to put that out there so you guys know what I am using the M62 for, and so we can see if the M62 is capable of making the power I am looking for. If with the 2.75" pulley and all of these mods I can't get well over 350hp (hopefully 400hp), then I will probably have to use the TVS or something.

also, GM's ratings are NEVER done at the breaking point. that would be retarded. if they rated a transmission for 170tq as its break point, and someone ran 168tq for a few days, the tranny would still break.
Look how GM rated the 2.2 connecting rods. They snapped at 283hp UNDER NITROUS, so GM rated them at 250hp. there should ALWAYS be some safety room.

So does anyone have a Supercharged 2.2l master parts list? As a few of you may know I was saving up to turbo my auto awhile back..I did end up getting 4grand saved up (in blowable money anyways) but I bought an engagement ring for my girlfriend instead..Im glad I did now that I've learned swapping an m62 isn't the rig job I thought it would be.
I would like to have a copy of a master parts list for the swap. Im planning on just trying to find a wreck ss/sc becuase I want the seats and stuff anyways and I would probably take the bumpers and crap (provided any were intact) too.

that setup might make 300whp...but you cant get more. the M62 just simply cannot flow that much air. If thats really your power goal, go for the TVS now, but in all honesty, 400hp on a FWD car is ridiculous...

I have the M62, it was cheap, If I cant get over 300hp, I'll get the TVS after the build is complete and then get the funds for that adventure! BUT I have a feeling that I'll be happy with around 300hp anyways.
and about 400 hp being rediculous power for a FWD, I had a 2004 Malibu with the 3.5 v6 and 200hp, when you floored it at low speeds or from a stop the steering wheel got crazy light and she felt real squirly. I know what you mean, bad traction and the car is under 2600 lbs now (had it weighed), the car will probably be all over the place in the first 2 gears, but it will be fun on the Highway and still fun overall.
