2.4 cold air to a 2.2??

I looked on the site/forum and even googled it, but I can't find anywhere that has a clear answer. My buddy is selling his 2.4 and it parting it out before he trades it in. My question is can I put his Cold Air intake on my 2.2? I would assume yes but I am not sure. Thanks in advance for anyone's help and input
