2.4 intake manifold swap

if i get the 2.4 intake manifold swap on my 2.2 do i have to get it tuned bc of the drive-by-wire throttle body?

The 2.4 manifold kit is only the manifold; the TB doesn't come with it. No tuning is required.

The intake manifold yields much more top end gains than a TB would. Besides, IIRC Crate Engine Depot tested the kit with the bigger TB and didn't get anyhigher numbers.

The 2.2 TB fits on the 2.4 manifold if that is what you are wondering.

ah.. gotcha. i thought the 2.4 had a larger throttle body. crateenginedepot.com has the 2.4 manifold swap for sale dyno tested. it says increased hp of 13. i figure that plus exhaust i should get 20+ hp out of it.

Well worth the 250. Can't wait to see what it does w/ a tune, if only i can find a deal on a header dp combo. No point in doing a tune until then.

if you read the REST of it youll see the car they used already had exhaust done..so that dyno graph you see is the intake WITH exhaust..so there really shouldnt be much guessing on hp..whatever they made SHOULD be what you would make....if you get the exhaust

You dont need that whole kit. Youll be paying the adapter that yuou dont even need, and for the hose that you can actually do without.

All you really need is this:
12587878: Intake Manifold, 1st design LE5 $125ish

12600729: Seal, Throttle Body $10ish

12589516: Seal, Crankcase vent $10ish

Ive got mine on(2008 2.2 w/SAIR) and its definately a noticeable difference, even without exhaust.

Check it : https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-guide-43/2-4-intake-manifold-install-2008-2-2-a-135051/

ryan, if the manifold is bought seperatly from GMpartsdirect, its 100 bucks right now. all other misc parts needed are cheap and will only cost about 30-40 bucks extra. so getting someone to buy the kit you have for 200 is going to be hard unless they are 05 or 06 cuase they need the adapter plate which is alot i think.

if you can sell all the other misc parts, i'll buy the intake manifold off ya for 80 cause its used. yeah, might be a crazy price but if you need this gone, 80 is my offer.

the best you may get is 160 for it used....considering that i can put the same kit together for about 60 less brand new than what you want for yours....no offense..i'm just saying.
