CED has 04 2.4 manifold and he says they are significantly dfferent then the 07s, he thinks they will perform even better. i'm working with them to install one on my 08 to see if it fits and record the gains.

SAI won't affect the intake manifold install unless you add a Cold Air Intake or Short Ram Intake. It mostly affects the exhaust manifold.
And nobody has done the 08 2.4 Mani swap yet. I'm still waiting on somebody to take up my offer about coming over as a test trial swap to see if it fits and works.

i ask because i'm going header/DP and I just bought JN2's CAI and i want to do a 2.4 manifold swap... why wouldnt it work? am I SAI? the CAI has a connection for that tube.

[QUOTE=wbrevels;2854466]is this a SAI? it has alittle tube that runs into the valve cover from the intake after the MAF

no sai comes out of the stock airbox and into the exhaust manifold. Near the top of the 2.2l homepage there's an article about it.

Nope. The SAI if you have it is near the air box where the filter is, if you have it there would be a tube running from there to the exhaust. That is just a vent, and usually a CAI or SRI will have a provision to reattach that to. If not, then you can go with the "mini breather" lol.

ok good, as long as i dont ahve it.. anyways i just called CED and he didnt pick up, i think hes out to lunch.. i will try back later. most likely 'll be dynoed, installing the manifold, getting a tune and then dynoed again to see the results of the manifold w/ tune.

called Tom once, I think he was out to lunch so I left a message and told him I'd call him back. I called him back later that day around 2 pm and the phone kept ringing, ang wasnt able to talk to anyone or leave a message, recently i've been busy installing my SS body kit so I havnt talked to him. If someone else wants to try feel free. because I don't want to put the money down to get a dyno before the swap and then get another after , which is what the company wants. I'm ordering my OBX header/DP later this week and then hopefully the 2.4 manifold before Oct. then I'll get a tune and possibly a group dyno because then i'll be fully bolted and it would be nice to know what i'm putting down.

The '08 2.2 doesnt have a different manifold than the '07 2.2. SOOOO putting an 06/07 2.4 manifold onto an '08 2.2 should yeild similar results as putting the 2.4 on an '07 2.2.
Its the 08-09 2.4 LE5 that has the different manifold. Again , the LE5 manifold has changed, NOT the L61. the 2008-2009 LE5 and the 2009 2.2's all use the same NEW manifold. It has smaller runners and appears to have a smaller plenum than the 1st design(06/07) 2.4 manifold. I will not be using it. I am sending the 08/09 VVT manifold back and sticking with the tried and true 06/07 VVT manifold.(this is on my '08 L61)
The new VVT manifold(I call it this since ALL 2009 ECO's are VVT and both the 2.2 and 2.4 use it) will probably offer better power than the stock L61 intake, but not as much as the 06/07 2.4 mani, the new manifold also COST MORE>

After pulling up their website for the 2.4 kit I just realized you'll probably need the TB-to-manifold gasket too!
