2.4 tb/intake mani

ok so iv been considering the 2.4 intake mani and tb BUT is it really worth it they look exactly the same?

how simple is the install and what else wil i need just besides those two things?

iv also heard the 2.4 intake mani is just as good with the 2.2 tb than the 2.4?

any feedback would be awesome thanks

i just installed my 2.4 intake mani, definitly seen an increase on the top end, but lost the wicked torque spike on the low end, kinda smoothed everything out lol, keeps pulling hard on the higher rpms tho, i dont have the 2.4 tb so i cannot comment on that, and if you have the 2.2 and 2.4 manis beside eachother you can see the difference

the 2.4 is definitely bigger and if you get the 2.4 throttle body you will need a tune... you will also need to lenghen your brake booster hose or get a 2.4 brake booster hose..

i have no idea. i bought one complete with all seals and hoses, install was very simple, hardest part i had trouble was with putting the brake booster hose back on the brake booster lol, only thing you gotta do is drill the hole bigger for the map sensor or whatever it is

you need a longer brake booster hose as they do not attach to the same place on the 2.4 as the 2.2 on the 2.4 it attaches at the bottom of where the tb attaches to

you will need the crank passage seal if it doesn't come with it and a new intake gasket and new throttle body gasket. The brake booster is easy I just bought a foot of 1/2" hose and extended mine. On the 2.2 mani it goes in the side of the mani and on the 2.4 it goes under where the tb is.

If you dont want to worry about possibly not having everything get the kit at Ecotec HO Intake Manifold Kit 2.2MMGF - Crate Engine Depot
It has every seal, gasket, adapter, you could need for any year balt and comes with a brake booster hose as well.

Buy the kit and sell the adapter plate for like $30-40 to the 05-06 guys. 230-40= save money in long run. But if your willing to wait. Buy them separately.

is this a must?

1. 2.2L intake removal (Allow engine to cool–do not remove when engine is hot). . Disconnect battery prior to starting work and/or clear the ECU with a scan tool. The ECU learns the throttle position and has set parameters for the original 2.2L intake manifold. This will reset the ECU and allow it to relearn new parameters with the new intake manifold.

Anytime you are messing with electrical components and or sensors always discount your battery.
