That sounds like something to the effect of the cams being interchangeable, reversible, or backwards compatible. It might be easier and less expensive in the long run to swap the entire motor. sw4y1313 is right. Your ecu will will need reprogramming or pcm reflashed, whatever may apply. Now that race-proven turbo kits are finally available for the 2.4, expect to see a lot of people coming back to the 2.4L. Most are going to discover they will increased in pricing and have less availability. GM's real goal to "raritize" the 2.4 N/A thus comes to fruition. I am not completely sure of the exact number, but only a "handful" of 2.4 N/A's with VVT were produced. I'm glad I got mine before it disappears. VVT is absolute genious, and if you really want that motor get it while you can. Completely modify the drivetrain, then if you still want a turbo, you have a lot more freedom with your boost pressure. No hearing **** like, "Stage 3 kit?, ummmm you're gonna need a rebuild." In a few more years 2.4L's are going to rule the streets with completey tweaked drivetrains and custom turbos with unheard of amounts of boost. I'll be ready. My life insurance paid in full.

Having a bad crank angle reading will lead at best to car not starting at all, at worst to a big BANG at the first crank attempt
