Besides why would you shift early if you're trying to make power. The longer you stay in a gear the higher the rpms are for the next gear, hence being in the powerband.
with the stock intake mani, you lose power after 5500.
with the 2.4 intake you gain power all the way to 6300.

Yeah...but if you shift too early then your powerband will be tougher to reach since you'll be starting at lower rpms in the next gear...so you're better off just riding to redline.

I think what he meant was, it would be better for an auto since if your wot then your car automatically goes to the redline before shifting, whereas someone with a manual can shift to early, hince not getting into the powerband.

Either way though, if you're a crusing around town the auto and most manuals will be shifting prior the powerband, which is fine because cruising around town you don't need the extra HP and Torque, and if your racing you're going to be WOT so you'd be in that powerband with either transmission.

Honestly this isn't a bad mod, for the little bit that you lose down low, what you gain up top, and the potential that you gain when/if tunning is available I think that makes it worth it. As soon as I get a little bit more done to my car I'm probably going to be going this route...
