Question 2006 Cobalt LS upgrades?

I just got a 2006 Cobalt LS from my brother who upgraded to a Mustang, lucky him. But I was wondering what upgrades and such that are out there to increase throttle response, horsepower, and acceleration. It has the stock 2.2 litre Eco-tech engine with a 4 speed automatic transmission. Also any cosmetic upgrades as well.

I am new to all of this but do have car smarts, I just don't know where to start, so I need a little bit of guidance on what parts are quality what needs to be changed or stregnthened when certain things are added, etc.

Injen cold air intake would be a great place to start. Check out turbo tech racing for them.

How much money are you talking about spending? Also is it a V6 mustang, auto, what year?

A tune alone will make it quite a bit quicker since it helps quite a bit more with an auto.

The Mustang is a 2005 GT, V8 and yeah its an auto.

The budget is really limitless it is just going to take me a while to get the money I need to buy the parts. so start out with the basics and move up sorta.

Also @ Lame; Injen Cold Air Intake System Chevy Cobalt Pontiac G5 05-10 2.2L and 2.4L Ecotec - Sale Today ONLY! - Air Management is that the one you're talking about? Also what performance gain would I receive from that

But why? With enough modifications the 2.2 litre can be more powerful than that of the SS

Buy the ZZP turbo uograde or get a used supercharger set up off someone. It wouldn't be as capable of making power as an ss but it would certainly be quick and a huge improvement over stock.

So you don't need to have anything already on the car to install this kit? And it will fit on the LS?

Ok pretty sure ZZP turbo kit comes with everything you need to run it I think the downpipe is just different for automatics. The supercharger kit is basically bolt on if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure someone on here can chime in.

Now with the Turbo kit, what are the downsides of having it, say if you got the 256 or 259 blower. and how does it compare with the both on supercharger?

Tune will get rid of the throttle delay, if you plan on staying N/A just tune intake and exhaust, supension mods makes it a little less boring.

Hmm, what are some other ways that are maybe a little cheaper, and open the doorway for higher performance?

Don't turbo or supercharge your automatic transmission... it's not worth the effort for only a 4-speed.

Just get bolt-ons. Intake, Exhaust, Header, Downpipe, Tune. You can even get a 2.0 or 2.4 throttle body and intake manifold.

Before you do any motor mods. Make the car look good. A set of wheels, lowering kit, ( tinted windows if you don't have em') that kind of stuff.
